Breathe in breathe out. My husband and I totally fell apart during week one. I fell apart. My equilibrium fell apart. My tear ducts went on overload. Mad at the world. Isn't withdrawal fun? Breathe in breathe out. YOU are in the midst of withdrawal right now. Ignore everything possible other than your quit. Focus on you and your life and this decision you are making for yourself. Your children will survive without supermommy for awhile. Your husband will survive a crabby wife. Your house will survive a dysfunctional woman. Your eldes will survive without dinner. Your sister will survive without your generous spirit. YOU, however, WILL NOT SURVIVE SMOKING! This is your life you are fighting for. Pay attention to IT and as little else as you can for these first days. Breathe in breathe out. Breathe in breathe out. I'm on IM too. Yes - breathe in and breathe out. I slept and sobbed most of week one. I also used the patch, though not at night. Whatever it takes. Just stay close. We will hold your hand every step of the way. Sleep well Minties. Sleep is a wonderful escape of the early withdrawal symptoms. We're here with you. Jan, tell your husband that the next few days are about you. They have to be. If you need to do meals at a certain time, do them. If you need to not have company, just say no, not a good time tonight, sorry see you tomorrow. I know you can do this in a nice gentle way. If you need to go to bed, do it. For you to succeed, you have to ignore the rest and focus on you.
