travel anxiety

I also would like to hear from folks who have anxiety when traveling to new and unfamiliar places. That's my deal---I can travel to many places that are new, if I'm with someone I'm familiar with and trust, but traveling alone to some place where I don't know what to expect at all---it's a control issue, I think, and overanticipating as a result of early childhood coping mechanism due to living in a very emotionally unpredictable home situation. I'm working on desensitization and successfully traveled somewhere I've never been,with crowds, lights and noise, the whole nine yards---and will continue working on it, but that fear of anxiety coming back after several successes is still there......
