aubanki,
Yes, I had a hard time at 6 months too. For many, that was the time of "freedom" when it really set in, but I was having a HORRIBLE time! I can tell you that just 3 short months later, I'm happier with my quit than I have ever been! I was one of the unfortunate ones who has had a really difficult quit. Breaking Free is right in part that if we think about it and romanticize the smoke, then we will have a harder time, but I think that it's more than that too. I had to just let time take it's course and let the cravings cease when they ceased and had to let go... no amount of conciously changing what I thought about seemed to work, although that's a very good suggestion and works for many. Just know that you're not alone and that many of us have gone through and continue to go through what you are going through now. But also, take comfort in knowing that even those of us who have had harder quits and have struggled emmensely STILL reach a time of freedom when the quit is comfortable! And I am now! And you will be too!
Hurstk, don't be afraid! Yes, you will probably always have periods of cravings, but they won't last NEARLY as long as they are lasting now for you! It does get better and it does get comfortable! You might be one of the lucky few to not get any cravings at all later on, or you might be like me and get lots of them, but I promise you one thing... no matter how much you struggle with your quit, there is still comfort later on. It does get better... I promise you!
Crave the Quit!
Pam
