HI SMOKED OUT. SORRY ABOUT YOUR INLAWS, ITS TOUGH, I WENT THRU IT WITH BOTH MY PARENTS. MAYBE YOU NEED SOME STRESS RELIEF TIME WITH YOUR HUBBY. YOU STATED YOU HAVE SOMEONE THERE ON WEEKENDS AND NIGHTS. WHY DON'T YOU PLAN SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE. A NIGHT OUT TOGETHER, ALONE. DINNER AND, A MOVIE, BOWLING, WHATEVER YOUR INTEREST ARE. PLAN THAT ON A WEEKLY BASIS, A REWARD FOR QUITTING AND TIME TOGETHER ALONE. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. KEEP COMING HERE, IT REALLY HELPS. Kerin one of the things i think i have been dealing with is being depressed......just down in the dumps sorta. Sounds like you could be dealing with that too. I think that is part of not having nicotene. Maybe the pros can assure us of that. You have done a good job with the parents. I am in a very similar boats with my elders. It is no small task. Your a good daughter in law. Hang really tight and just remind yourself you can go without smoking for five minutes, by then were usally busy with something else. Correen

Kerin, just checking in with you, I was on vacation and just got back. How are things going? I have been thinking about you both and sending support to you. I am still smoke free and went off the patch yesterday, yesterday was good, today very emotional but not sure if that is because I went home for vaca or because of the nicotine thing. Oh well just crying lots today and reading and posting. Please say hi and let me know how it's going. ((((((((((((hug)))))))))))) Kerin, I am so sorry you are having a tough time but if I remember right I had a REALLY bad day about 9 or 10 days into my quit. Cried all dang day long, didn't like life, didn't like anyone but boy did I think a cigarette would make it better. I had a great support person and she called me up and said I am coming to pick you up and we are going to her boy's baseball game. Normally I loved to go with her but that day I didn't want to do anything but be depressed. So you see you have to physically get out of that mind set, just get up go outside, take some deep breaths, take a walk, go take a bath, pick up a book...anything to get your mind off of it. Once I went with her, it a took a bit, but I was better and so thankful that she did that the next day. Use this site too...you can do almost (giggle) anything you want on here and you can't scare us away. Always remember that the mind is the most powerful muscle that we have but WE have to work it the right way. Just don't give up, you are doing so well, keep telling yourself...."yes I can, yes I can". I know you really want this and sometimes we have to work hard for the things we want. I will be sending only good and positive thoughts your way. Thinking positively is hard but can be done. I hope you have a good weekend and be nice to yourself...you deserve it, you are doing a wonderful thing for your life....cherish it.
