cant sleep

I could not sleep when I first quit either. IMO I think that sleep is very important in all that we do. We need a well rested brain to fight nicodemon and to keep our will power and positive attitude strong. Use melatonin. It is natural and it works. Hi Ann - congratulations on embarking on this journey and having 4 days under your belt. When I first quit I could not sleep much either, it was not pleasant and I know when I don't get sleep I am like a cranky 2 year old and life is horrible and no one loves me. (perfect reason to start smoking again right????? Wrong) Anyway I talked to my doctor and she gave me 10 sleeping pills...the first night I took one and slept like a baby..second night 1/2 one and then for about 3 nights, I took just a 1/4 pill (probably did not do anything but I still had the effect physcologically)...and that was it... Thos 10 pills lasted me until about a month ago.. If you need help to sleep for a few weeks, you may want to talk to your Doctor. Hi Tally, I worked graveyard shift (midnight-8am) for 7 months. It was tough. I usually ended up sleeping in two 4 hour shifts. Eventually I rearranged my brain so I could sleep 6 or 7 hours straight. You could try "melatonin". It is a natural sleep aid that you can purchase at any health food store. Take one right before you lie down to go to sleep. Unfortunately, having trouble sleeping is a by product of nicotine withdrawal. But, it is a sign that your body is healing itself, so be thankful! Tylenol PM works for me also. don't get frustrated. Stay with your quit. You are going to experience alot of different physical symptoms over the next couple of weeks.
