I like your reply, Free. Our thoughts are with you, Pink. Hope the little one is recovering. Asthma is scary! He needs his mommy around in times like these...now that you don't smoke, you will be around for a long, long time and the smoke-free environment has to be better for him as well! Congrats on pulling through! I must say that until last night, I never really understood how much smoking affects other people. My little boy who is almost 6 has asthma. He is not a typical case though. Either we have no symptoms or it is terrible...and there is no inbetween. Well yesterday when I picked him up from school...he was wheezing really bad, so I called the DR. and we started him on an oral steriod and avoided the ER last night. In the past on nights like that I would of smoked about a pack due to stress, however last night I just sat here and held my little one without the worries of needing to go outside, and then smelling like smoke and having to wash my hands, brush my teeth, and change clothes everytime I wanted a smoke. Was it ever even worth it??? I do not think so. Well needless to say, yesterday was by far the most stressful day that I have had since my quit. I didn't even think about smoke, I just thought about being a comfort for my little boy...that was the best feeling EVER!!! Wow, I now realize how much smoking ruled my life, and what a slave I had become to it. Smoking is such a selfish habit, and it is funny becuase I look back now and there was never even a reason for starting to begin with. I just feel so blessed that I am taking the steps to do what I need to do to be rid of this demon forever. Thanks for all the support here...I know my quit is stonger because of the kind words and the accountability. Have a great weekend everyone. My little boy is doing much better. Thanks for asking. We still have a bit of a cough and a runny nose. But I will take those symtoms any day over an asthma attack!!! It is just sooooo nice to take care of him and not have to compromise my thoughts by thinking that I needed to go smoke.... I love the fact that you can regain control of your life...I am finally smoke FREE!!!
