Valic,
I was faced with a double whammy yesterday a real test of my quit. Not only did i go to my newly ex husbands place but he smokes like a chimney. I sat out on the back porch while he smoked his cigarette inside, he asked me why i wasnt coming in and i said. I dont smoke He said oh i understand it makes you want one, i sat and thought about it, then said, well no it doesnt actually the smell of your cigarette is making me nauseous. He finished his cigarette and said ok come in and refrained from smoking the whole 45 mins i was there (he usually chain smokes). My point is that if they do care about you and respect you, they will support you and help you through this difficult period.
Be strong Valic, just keep reminding yourself that you are a non smoker and remember the reasons why you are quitting :)
