Hurstk, You are doing just fine. I am in the EXACT same boat with you today! Stressed day, but yet not out of th ordinary and stuff i've coped with without a ciggarette before, and yet.. I REALLY want one today! I don't understand it at all. I almost baught a pack today.. You know what I reminded myself and why i didn't? The cigarette seemed like it would be so great.. like leaning on an old friend. That first puff would just be heaven and the stress would melt away.. ahhhhhhh Uh, not really. You ever quit before or get sick and take a couple days off from smoking and then had that first one? BLACH!!! EWWWW, it's like licking an ash tray and then you cough and maybe your stressfull day would be better, because you'd be more concerned about getting that stuff out of your mouth. Then what? Marriage is stressed, work is demanding, car problems hit, and money problems hit, and as if that isn't enough... you'd be an adict. Take your nice bath, be good to yourself.. make some comfort food for dinner (I am eating mine right now) and have a nice sleep.. you deserve to be smoke free. *hugs* My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,311 Amount Saved: $299 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 0 Mins: 10 Seconds: 11

MEEELLLANNNNIIIEEEEEEE? You didn't answer my question about the NRT combo---patch/gum? I am assuming that the SSC cannot support any combination that is not complete without studies, validity, etc... I did get a bit scared and removed my 1/3 7 mg and stuck just with the full 7 mg on my arm, but I do believe that the few hours I had it on helped...maybe it's psychological.(?) Yes...today has been the worst and I cannot even give you a reason WHY!? I have read all the pamphlets, etc.., and always assumed that if you smoked with the patch you would automatically overdose on nicotine! Well...proved that wrong several years back. I suppose it's possible, but it never happened (I'm not positive, but on that quit I actually think I tried to!) So, I really cannot see why I cannot combine a 7 mg patch with (one time a day) 2 mg gum. Or cut up a patch to suit my needs...AS LONG AS I AM QUIT. However, I suppose, the point being, that at some point I am going to have to go it on will power alone, and this is my preparation. Ya know what---THIS SUCKS!!!

Allright, I am going to go to bed in a few minutes--right after I finish off this (very stiff) Jim Beam and (diet) coke! I am still not convinced that I cannot chop up my patches or chew nicorette at my leisure, but I WILL talk to my Dr. in the morning. I promise. Between the extreme cravings, NRT screw-ups, wellbutrin and alcohol---I really should have some interesting dreams! ;p Come on, honey...time for bed! :eg:

I don't know why I have been craving so much today, after going so long...(?) I had been sick last week, had a few minor upsets on the home-front and work has been taxing...but that really isn't unusual, ya know? But tonight I find myself in tears (literally) desiring a cigarette for no expalanable reason. I have to confess...I stopped and bought a pack late this afternoon, then threw them out the car window once I realized what I was about to do. I am glad I did that (Whew! There's a $500.00 fine for littering, but I knew if I made it home with the pack I would smoke, so it was a worthwhile crime! :)) Once I was home, I opened another 7 mg patch package (I already have a 7 mg on my arm)did a little math, disected the new one into thirds and added one to the one I had on. I don't know...it seemed like the right thing to do. That drop from 14 to 7 was quite a step. Dividing a 7 mg into thirds, along with the 7 I already have on, gives me approximately 9.25 mg right? Whatever :quest: I've already plastered it on and I intend to go to the bathroom, take a bath, cry, cry, cry, and go to bed...why am I so DOWN? After this long I should be HAPPY :) AAAARRRRGGGG! My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 78 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,940 Amount Saved: $624 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 2 Mins: 32 Seconds: 33

Okay...so can I combine the 7 mg patch and a 2 mg gum when the cravings hit? I will call my Dr. in the AM. I have been cruising along rather nicely and have been up and down since dropping to the 7 mg. I'm not sure if it was the bug I had, the drop in the patch...or, perhaps I need to be committed to a mental health facility!?! I DO NOT like feeling this out of control!!! And I am getting rather upset about the whole damn thing! My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 78 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,940 Amount Saved: $624 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 2 Mins: 35 Seconds: 39
