not a good day

mo, Have you had a Blood pressure taken today?? If so what is it? And what is your norm? Just so you know, you can expect to feel nicotine withdrawal symptoms after you quit smoking. However, they usually improve after the first three or four days, depending on your level of nicotine addiction. Each smoker has different withdrawal symptoms - yours will be unique. Although they may be unpleasant, they do pass. When you experience withdrawal symptoms, remind yourself that each symptom is a sign of recovery - your body is in the process of healing itself. Think of withdrawal symptoms as growing pains. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Please let us know how you are doing, Melanie ___________________ The SSC Support Team

mo, Your blood pressure is within normal range for adults. I do realize that everyone will have his/her own "norm". I would be concerned if your diastolic was above 90 or 100. Right now your body is going through a lot of change. It is normal to have a slight change in your blood pressure at this stage in your quit. If you notice any symptoms that do not go away, please visit your doctor. Take Care, Melanie ____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi, was doing really fine today...............then my daughter came home from school......with middle school attitude.......now she is in her Mom doesn't exsist mode. Normally this doesn't bother me...but today it is bringing me to tears. I also have a question...I thought quitting smoking lowered blood pressure.....then why is mine the highest it;s ever been? Thank you for listening :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 95 Amount Saved: $15.4 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 9 Seconds: 21

Mo if you want to cry then let it out, mabey you need a good cry! Mabey when she's in an approachable mood talk to her and let her know you'd like her support. I know they're touchy at that age but a heart to heart talk might help a bit. Good Luck & Keep us updated.. Hi Mo...........read my post "when is the right time to stop smoking" in the general forum if you have a moment. Your daughter will have "mum doesn't exist mode" whether you smoke or not. Its not nice to deal with but it is entirely normal! I have a 13 year old boy and an 11 year old girl. Most of the time I love them to bits but just occasionally I could cheerfully throttle them. You will cope much, much better when you get through hell week. At the moment you are coping with the withdrawal aspect (assuming that you are cold turkey that is). When things settle a bit you will find it a lot easier. One thing though.................don't smoke!
