I'm not a doctor but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. From experience I will tell you that you are going to have to learn HOW to breath again. While you were smoking your breathing was shallow now you have to learn how to breath from the diaphragm. Good solid deep breathing and if possible combined with an exercise program. It takes time to rebuild and heal the damage caused by smoking yet it is not impossible to be back up to speed within 6 months. It isn't easy but then what is these days.
