i am so glad i have you all to support me. my fiance and i were having a major discussion about our relationship and both of us considered leaving the other one. instead, we decided to work things out because we can't picture one of us without the other. i don't know if it was the stress of the fight or the relief when it was over, but i almost slipped. i bought a diet coke (my smoking partner) and when i got home, i sat on the couch and thought-"what am i doing? i quit for 6 days." i couldn't stand the thought of letting anybody down so i didn't have one. when i told my boyfriend that i decided not to, he said he wouldn't have let me anyway. he is starting to see how important and hard this is for me. thank god for you guys! i think this is just what i needed. knowing that i would have to log in and check the box for "had a minor slip" terrified me. then i started thinking about how gross it feels to have a cig for the first time after you quit. you know, that wierd, almost headache feeling. i feel okay now. i took the time to calm down and get on the computer and now i can't believe i even considered having one. thanks for listening. i just had to get that off my chest. jane :8o:

So happy to hear this! You're doing a great job - stay with it, you need all the extra nurturing you can get, so be gentle with yourself but at the same time, be determined. This is great news. You are doing soooo many things right - remember that!! - you are stopping smoking. That is a decision that will save your life. - you are running to this site when you feel crazy. This site, these people here saved my quit. They will help you too - through every step of the way. - you are not making any major decision about your relationship with your fiance. Remember that you are nuts right now. You are also in major grief mode (though why we grieve giving up these awful smelly cancer sticks eludes me). When you are nuts and grieving mode, you should make NO major decisions. You are hardly competent to picking out which socks to wear, much less something important. Pay no attention to anything you are thinking or feeling for awhile. Just grit your teeth, taking one step at a time. Have faith in those of us who have gone before you. THis will PASS!!!!! Believe it. Congratulations on protecting your quit! Best Wishes.
