A totally new day

Hi Mama. Glad you're doing better. It is an up & down battle that's for sure. So weird how we're fine one hour and then the next like we're in a different world. My 5th day was the worst. The craving seemed to last 24 hours, then it just disappeared (thank the Lord). I have been fine ever since. Yes I do get cravings, but I remember that this is my choice and it's a MIGHTY FINE CHOICE!! I remember why I don't want to smoke and how I don't want to go back to day 1 ever again. Stay strong !! wow mama I am so impressed!! I don't think i could have been around smoking and not had one. I am staying away from one of my best friends for over 2 week so that I can stay sane and not smoke. You have a great attitude!! mon My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 357 Amount Saved: $51 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 20 Mins: 1 Seconds: 37

Wow, things are really different tonight than they were last night!! I dtill don't really know what the difference is but I am sooooo much better! My son had a basketball mishap at day camp and I got called to come get him. He had a gash on his eye that was about two inches long between the lid and the brow. Now, I told myself very firmly "this has absolutly nothing to do with wheather you are smoking or not and smoking is certainly not going to make it better". I took him directly to the doctor and they fixed him up. (they really just ended up "supergluing" him back together, which is funny.) Then I went over to see my mom and she is still smoking. I was dreading it but I had to go because you see she has COPD and this was a really bad ozone day here in Houston so I had to make sure that she is ok. I wasn't at all tempted while I was there. Then came a big test. She asked me to go get her some cig.s because she is almost out and she can't go out because of the ozone. So I told myself "Ok, it is not nessesary for you to smoke just because you are buying cigs. for her, that is her choice and yours is to not smoke." Anyways, I know I couldn't have done any of that yesterday. I would have been buying myself a carton if I had tryed to handle that yesterday. So what happened? It is my attitude. And it was you guys that helped change it. So thank you for getting me through that yesterday and also thank you in advance for all my future bad attitudes. I hope that I will be able to help you too in return. Just wanted to let you know how much better I am feeling. Thank you again, Mama My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 310 Amount Saved: $39.9 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 41 Seconds: 51

Still doing much better today BF! Thank you soooo much for asking. I am looking forward to the weekend. This has been such a long work week. It's too hard to concentrate and I feel very guilty that I really am not getting much done. I hope my focus is better by monday. How are you feeling? I'm feeling WONDERFUL ... AWESOME ... FANTASTIC ... can't wait to have another smoke free WEEKEND!!! I just visualize each weekend getting better and better. I visualize being healthier and being able to do more things. I visualize 4 to 6 extra hours given to me each weekend because I am not wasting them smoking. Was that more excitement than you needed to know? LOL Have a great weekend Mama! And don't worry about not being productive at the moment ... before long you are going to be more productive than you have been in many years. ((((hugs)))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 854 Amount Saved: $112 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 9 Mins: 31 Seconds: 43

Attitude is SO important in your quit! If you feel sorry for yourself you are going to be able to reason your way right to a smoke. Its okay to be sad, I was, but don't let it get your quit!! Hang in there, your doing great!
