yeah, because they seem so real ... it is like you need evidence when you wake up that it didn't happen to believe it was a dream ... How's it going Breaking Free? I'm with you on the whole thing about wanting to kick all the nicotine stuff to the kerb. I'm on tiny tablets that you keep under your tongue that release nicotine. The patches make me sick and the big lozenges and gum hurt my mouth and throat (sometimes I wonder how I tolerated smoking! lol ). I can cope with the tiny tablets if I drink a lot of water. I would like to be completely free of the whole lot, but my plan is to stick with the replacement and start cutting down after 4 weeks. The idea makes me a little nervous. How are you finding it? Take Care chickstarr :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 509 Amount Saved: $200 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 9 Mins: 46 Seconds: 49

Breaking Free, I know the advice you are going to get from the moderators is going to conflict with what I have to say, but I think you should be fine with the smaller patches. I took the patches off after the 3rd day and I was fine. From 21 mg patch to no patch. I feel great, I do not have any nicotine in my system (and if I do it is very little) and I don't have to spend money on patches. If I didn't think you were so strong mentally (as you said) I may give you different advice, but I think you can do this. This is all mind over matter in the end. Read Allen Carr's book : The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. You will see it is all mind over matter. You can do this. My advice is just rip that patch off and go about your business. You don't need that patch. It is a crutch, just as cigs were. But, if you think you cannot do it without the patch, keep the patch on, the big one or the small one. As long as you quit. OMG BreakingFree!!! I joined the dream club too. On Saturday night, I dreamed that I had a cigarette. I smoked all of it but remember having a bad feeling, like, why the hell am I smoking this and I am not even enjoying it ? It was as if something was forcing me to smoke. I looked down at my hands and realized that I had two packs. I threw them in the trash. When I woke up, I felt a little disoriented, like I had smoked. When I realized it was only a dream, I was very relieved. It was very weird.
