Heh. He had posted a link before showing a picture of the fish. It must have been edited out by a board mod. It appears to be a type of gummy fruit thing in the shape of a fish. Heh. Hi Ryan - I am currently working on Week 4 of my quit. Believe me, I really really know and understand how hard this first day is. It sucks. There isn't a pretty way to dress it up. HOWEVER... You can, and will get through this. It's just 1 day. A few hours really. Just think about making it until Noon or so when you can go grab something to eat. A different location, no phones or customers or whatever. That's all you've just gotta do. Or make it something earlier if you want - Make it until your morning break or whatever. Then, just think about it! Just a couple more hours then you can go home!! Wooo! Just a couple hours! Heck, that's less than I'd often go between smokes anyways. Thinking like that helped me get through the first day. I broke it up into smaller segments. I also kept some hard candies and some Starburst around. Please stay in touch and let us know how it goes! Hi Ryan, Hang on to this - you can do it! Speak to your co-workers and let them know they must not give you a cigarette on any account. Take today 5 minutes at a time, use the SSC as much as you need. Tomorrow is another (better) day! All the best to you, Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 91 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,743 Amount Saved: 682.5 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 5 Mins: 48 Seconds: 33

Hi Ryan, Oh, I can surely relate to how you feel!! Stay away from smokers. Please listen to what I am saying. As I informed everyone that I am not smoking I could not believe the people who offered me cigs!! From what I have learned smokers do not like to see people suceed in quitting. Sick isn't it? I did the patch before and for me the withdraw was too severe. I recently had laser theraphy. I can't rave about this treatment enough. No withdraw as long as I drank a gallon of water a day for 5 days to flush out my system. It can be done. Also, I pop in a mint or tootsie roll pop and chew on the stick afterwards. I keep a rubber band around my wrist and snap it when the cravings get bad. It can be done. Only if you want it bad enough. You must be honest with yourself. I tried to stop several times before and didn't do it but this time so far so good. I smoked for 40 years up to 3 packs a day and before I quit I was smoking about 27 a day. I never thought that I could stop smoking. Never!! I am very grateful for the help and support from the wonderful people at this site. Stay close, read, post, do whatever it takes you can do it!! Be good to yourself and tell yourself what a wonderful job you are doing. :) It's so awesome to be a non smoker. Just stay away from temptation. Let us know how you are doing--u can do it!! babs My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 593 Amount Saved: $99.75 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 22 Seconds: 3
