paranoid, I'm wishing I would couph up more of that junk. I cough up some each morning also but I feel better after I have done so. Im still a little early in my quit and im still feeling a little tightness in my chest. I don't think its a bad thing to be getting rid of that junk. I am about a month cig free...and am starting to develop a bad morning cough combined with flecks in the production of my mucus. I know it's gross. Sorry, but it is questionable. I had an X-ray, Cat-Scan and did some breathing tests. The only one that wasn't completley perfect was the latter, and I know it's just the cillia (sp?) recovering, but with this bad allergy season on top of everything, I do sometimes get short of breath in the AM. Anyone else experience something similar? Also, I got off the nicorette 3 weeks ago and am FINALLY feeling semi-normal again. Just wanted to see if anyone felt or experienced the same things... Paranoid, Yeah, a lot of people experience a gross cough when quitting. You're right that it's the celia healing. I think you should talk to your doctor if you're worried about it. I hope it doesn't last much longer for you. Crave the Quit! PAD Except for caughing up a lot of crud I went though the same thing as you did. Had a complete cardio check up with chest xrays, cat scan and breathing tests. I passed all three with flying colors after smoking for 58 years. I do experience heaver breathing when there is a high pollen count coupled with high humidity. Other than that every thing is ok. Casey gave you some great advise. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. Duffis D429
