Hey NascarFan!
I am sorry to hear that you are having a bad day today.
I had a fight last night with my bf. I didn't smoke but I was so angry that I wanted to just to hurt myself. (I have a tendency to be masochistic sometimes.)
Hang in there, Nascar! Tell us what is going on!
Nascar,
I am truly sorry you are having another bad day.
Remember that smoking is not going to cure what ails your day, if anything it is going to be make you even more nervous, upset, and then you will lose some of your own self-respect because you were not able to control yourself.
:)
I am in a pretty bad mood myself today. I am angry at my BF. I don't like my job. The only thing that is keeping me going is thinking about leaving tonight so I can watch my favorite TV program when I get home. I am thinking about having an icecream later or getting into bed. These thoughts keep me happy.
Think of things you look forward to.. think of something that you like. Do not try to be positive. Be positive. Everything else will fall into place.
:) Mira

Rock On Nascarfan!
Isn't it cool to realize just how well you are doing?! Heh. I loved it when I realized I could go all day without sucking down a metric buttload of Hard Candies!
I'm so glad I don't have to follow through on my earlier threat of replacing the cars at Daytona with Yugos! Woo Hoo!!

Nascarfan - you are really doing great!!!! Congratulations.
I't sure can be difficult! I am now 45 days or so (don't have my quit meter down) but do feel it is a little better now. I went on the patch and I do believe that it REALLY helped me - I don't think
I could have gotten through the first 2 weeks without it. I am off the patch now and feel Ok. Anyway, I just wanted to suggest you
try sleeping, having a nice hot bath anything to try to take your mind
off cigarettes. Remember, cigarettes are only a little white tube,
laden with toxic chemicals whose ONLY purpose is to deliver nicotine to the addict. Nascarfan - something that really helped me too - when things got bad I would go and read a few chapters of Allen Carr's
Easyway to Quit Smoking - it is an AMAZING book and will really
spark your resolve after reading. I still have it for my "Quit Bible"
and use it often and it does get me back on track. See what other
members of the support group think but this book is VALUABLE. (No,
I don't work for Allen Carr!!!) I often tell myself "smoke or be healthy YOU CAN'T DO BOTH."
Hang in there dear Nascarfan, you are a non-smoker now!
All the best, Sadie.
