18 years ago 0 8 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
hi all, well thought it was too good to be true... day 6 today and i am suffering, do not want to eat as when ever i do i want to smoke. Thinking more & more about smoking... is this normal?????? How long does it take before you can go at least a few hours without thinking about it?? A bonus is that i have my concentration back, last week i was good for nothing.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.. Day 4 today, i felt really good yesterday, even did and hour of exercising.. I decided to quit cold turkey, after reading a lot on the internet i went and bought myself the NRT lozengers so i had them if needed. i have not used any as yet. I have been a smoker for around 20 years and smoking from 20 to 30 a day. The first day of my quit i felt very spaced out and could not think clearly, the second day was similar but not as bad as day one. Yesterday i felt fine and did not even munch on sugarfree Polo's all day... I know i have a long hard road ahead of me but reading your posts does help..

Hi You are doing great!!! And it WILL get better. I had help of Wellbutrin in the beginning, but first three days, like you, I felt like a zombie. Then it got better. Now I do have cravings but it is more like mental than physical. I still want to smoke but it is nothing like first week where you think of nothing else but your need for cigarette. I don't know for how long you smoked, but I did for 40+ years, so I guess my body needs time to adjust to clear lungs. You will question your quit many times, but when you do, read this forum and you will feel better knowing that many of us had same feelings and thoughts. Good luck.
