Hi I was just wondering what some of you thought.I have one patch left in my package. It is the 21mg patch. I dont want to sound cheap but I was thinking if it would be sabatging myself if I just went cold turkey from here. I know this might be a matter of preference but I thought maybe some input would help me make a descion. Part of me thinks It would be fine and the other is scared to death. Thank you! Fran Hi, morninglory I am not writing to give you my experience with the patch, because i quit cold turkey. I quit on March 1 the same day you did and I am just writing to let you know how glad I am that you are still on your quit. Morningglory: I used the patch also and it is best to follow the instructions given. The weaning process is most effective when you follow the steps. Good morning, Morningglory. I used the patch, but "stepped" down my dosage. I started at 21mg for 4 weeks, then went to 14mg for 2 weeks and then 7mg for another 2 weeks. If you are nervous and scared about going off the patch maybe it would be best for you to go to 14mg. My Doc. put me on this plan so maybe you could talk to him/her about what is best for you. I'm not sure where you live, but here in Nova Scotia my patches were minimal cost because I had a prescription. Maybe that is something you could look into as the patches are expensive. Still cheaper than daily cigs though! Hang in there Fran, you're doing great. 3 weeks already! I used the patch also. I stuck to the program and would advise you to too. My quit was far more important than the money and my patches were allot less than the smokes I was buying. Stick to the program it was designed to help us and it won't if you take short cuts, if your going to do that you might as well have went cold turkey to start.
