Thank you. I feel a little bit better today and since I don't have any fever I'm sure all my symptoms has to do with that I am not smoking any more. R-D Man, I think an appointmed with the dentist would be a good idea. It will be nice to have the teeths cleaned up:-) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 49 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 746 Amount Saved: $220.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 19 Mins: 20 Seconds: 13

I'm on my 47th day and for the last couple of days have my nose start to get sore,(bleeding) and my trout is getting dry. My voice sometimes "dies" in the middle of a sentense. My gum is bleeding and I have a very strange taste in my mouth. Like a lot of people here, I'm getting emotional, I can start to cry when I read different posts in this forum. I just don't understand why all this start so late in my quit. (it is late, right? ) Anyone know for how long this can last?

Sunflower I am sorry that you are not feeling so great. Make sure to check with your doctor or health care specialist cause everyone is different. For me my voice has been off and my throat has been raspy and I have gotten ear aches, now this could all be from just getting my body clean. I totally know the weird taste in mouth thing and my gums bleed looking at them, checked with my dentist and the tissues in my mouth are like brand new and like a babies, I need to be very gentle with this new, unseared, unsmoked flesh. And please make sure to get all these little nagging things checked out. 47 days into your quit is along! For me the emotional stuff does not let up. I need to sometimes givemyself space. In my RDMan The Quit thread I talked last night how I take on the emotions that are here. Sometimes it is very sad in here and sometimes it is very angry and I am getting to know that I sometimes need to take a break and get to take care of me. I don't know if I am making myself understood but it is like nurturing myself, being kind and at the same time firmly parenting myself. Loving caring and kind. How I wanted to be parented and exactly what I am learning to provide for myself. All of what you feel will pass and you will feel something else. We all want to be feeling. Take what time you need. Give yourself all of the love and care and compassion that you need. AND know that you are doing an amazing job at being quit, starting a new life. CONGRATULATIONS! 47 days is an awesome and very powerful achievement! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 53 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,060 Amount Saved: $397.5 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 15 Mins: 22 Seconds: 26

Good job on 47 days, you are almost half way to the beach. Seriously, you might try some nasal saline spray for the dry nose passages. That can't hurt any and will at least keep them moist. Hi, Sunflower. If you also have a slight fever, you may be getting a sinus infection. I've had a lot of those over the years and your symptoms (other than the bleeding gums) fit. Your doctor is the one to make the decision. They are no big deal if treated promptly. Everyone's quit is different. Some people experience things earlier and later than others. I wouldn't get worried over becoming emotional now. There have been several people who have experienced an emotional slump around 50 days. It seems to last for 2- 3 days, or so, then passes. Just hang on, it's all temporary. Congratulations on 47 days, Sunflower. That's truly awesome. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 322 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,455 Amount Saved: $1223.6 Life Gained: Days: 60 Hrs: 4 Mins: 4 Seconds: 33

Hello Sunflower, I am no Doctor Phil, But was just wondering if You were still on the patches or the Zyban or any other medication, The dry throat will come with kicking the addiction, Just drink lots of water, and try to go for long walks daily, if possible, And by all means, get those teeth and gums cheked out by Your Dentist, So hang in there Friend, For You have a lot of Friends cheering for You to succeed, May I say Congraulations on 47 days smoke free, for that is wonderful, Just remember, what they have typed on the side of those cigerette packs, is True, There Hazzardous, Smokless In Oklahoma :)

Sun, Everyone's symptoms will be different and your will be unique. It is important to remember to check with your doctor if a symptom persists or is out or the ordinary. This will rule out anything medical. Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
