Hello Determined. I do think Rusty is correct. While I haven't tried the IM, I will say that I am amazed at this forum. I would give this forum a real try. There are always people here, and you usually receive an answer or comment on your posts fairly soon. It has been so helpful for me to read new and old posts. Especially the old posts. Any thoughts or feelings can usually be found from many, many, many other people. We are all here for the same reason. Though each one of us reacts to our quit differently, I am sure that there are lots of people that share a common ground. And if not, these people are the most caring and supportive people I have ever met in my life. Give this forum a try! I promise it would let you down! Good luck & stay strong! You can do it! **** 4my2girls ***** My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 193 Amount Saved: $29.43 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 36 Seconds: 40

Hey! Congrats on your second day! I have already forgiven you for grabbing a variation of my nick name. LOL! Hang in there and use this forum. This is my 10th day and I am so glad this forum is here to help me. I think I get as much from this when I reply as when I ask for help. You can do it! Determined to quit Congraduations on your quit. We all started at the same place and have gone through the withdrawals so we understand your pain. I to was a little confused with this site when I first quit. They expect you to know all the ends and outs of the site when you first signup. I was just lucky to find this site. My situation was not one that needed more problems. My job does not allow me to down load programs, and when I needed someones help the most no one was there. I would sneak off, like I am right now and get on the site, but that seems so immature. Kinda like the things I was doing when I was smoking. Unless I am doing something wrong, while you use this site, you can post a message on the group messenger, but you have to wait for someone to respond. There has been cases that the response was longer a couple of hours. By that time I could have fallen off the wagon, I need immediate help. Dear Determined to Quit - Congrats on your second day and for not detouring on the first day on your walk. If you can get out and walk that craving off it makes it much easier - just stay away from the Jiffy! (That's what we call the 7-11 on our island!) Just know that you will find your answers and support here on SSC. It has been a total blessing to me! There is always someone here and the Support Specialist really monitor it so if you need immediate help you can get it from them! It gets easier- then harder- then easier- then harder - then before you know it you will ask yourself why you didn't do this years ago! Just stay in touch here...this support is the best around - we all know what you are going through and are here to help! Determined: Rusty hit the nail on the head. I found it most helpful to read the old posts. I found out that I am not the only one who is having a tough time. Every time I thought that my situation was unique I found someone that had been there before and learned how to cope. Hang in there and come here often.
