Hey everyone Forget what day i am on, but Chris and boubou have the same quit days as me I like the thought of starting a month off smoke-free! I looved the story about Quit4Josh's kid, sooo cute! Kids are a great reason not to smoke! They learn quickly and are like a sponge and absorb everything around them! Although I am a loooong way off to having kids! (Im 18) Id like to quit now so my kids can grow up knowing me as a non smoker. I really wanna quit when Im 18 when Im young and resilant. (sp?) I read Allan Carrs book but while it was an interesting accurate book it did not make me stop after reading it. Hey guys and gals, You are doing fine. Just still being here means that you are making it through. The first part of the journey is tough. Just like on a road trip, this is where you discover how hard the seat is, what things are not in reach that should be, and how loud to play the music. Just remember that once you get passed the bumps, the ride is so nice. Plenty of fluids this first 2 weeks. Make some of them juice to help you keep your insulin levels in check. Driving in the car is a tough one to handle at first. You can actually see people smoking! and it will remind you that you are not. I think that I spent the first two months (when I was in my car) chewing on a cinnamon stick. Zero calories, a plesant taste (after you get used to it) slightly sweet, you can chew, or hold, or pretend to smoke it. It's all good. It beat straws for me. But I know that some people put a little cotton or something like it in their straws to create some resistance to draw against. Ice water to drink on, flavored with a little lemon if you like. Sing along with the radio. Loud as you want. What ever it takes to not light up. ANd smile alot. You can also carry a tooth brush to just dry brush anytime you want. Keep on Keeping on... your doing it. How's everyone doing? I trust that we are all still going strong! I am so very thankful for Allen Carr as I am sure that some of you are thankful for the patch, gum or whatever method you are using. By the way, Quit4Josh, my 5 year old sounds the same as your 6 year old! "Mom you are never going to smoke again, right?" Too funny. Kids are great!
