Calling all February '06 Quitters!!!!

18 years ago 0 9 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey, just got this far in reading all the messages. I've been quit for 3 days, well it will be three exactly in one in a half hours. Just thought I would join the group. Congradulations everyone on your success! Oh, what has helped me, is to look at the really crappy times during my quit, and I telling myself... "I'm not going to screw up, and have to go through that again." I don't know about anyone else, but I went shopping for food the night before my quit... I've eaten everything! I'll work on my quit now, and worry about my butt later. lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/27/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 53 Amount Saved: $7.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 45 Seconds: 45

I quit Feb l7. Not totally on my own, got involved with a university 3 year study. Getting lots of help, but this site has been a lifesaver when I have my morning cravings, I just get on the computer. Smoked 35 years and was just sick of it... I am from Southern Wisconsin, married 29 years and 2 lovely daughters, Want to be around for grandkids we may have. I already feel wonderful and it hasn't been as hard as I thought. Keep up the fight everyone. I plan too. Okay, just checked in, saw this thread, I guess I am one, if invited. My quit was 4:40 p.m. 2/17. I currently live in Texas - San Antonio. My name if Vonda. Formerly from Northern Virginia/Pennsylvania. 40 years old, smoked since 11, married w/ a 9 year old and 4 year old. Isn't life fun. I want to be around to watch them grow. This has been a day from hell!!!!! First three days were a breeze, it seemed. Last two have been fixated on those stix. But have had the power to not concede. You are all doing fantastic. I'm relatively new this site, been on ffs for a few days. Been thru the modules. Lots of sugarless gum - my jaws are hurting - nice cold water and fruit juice. Keep strong and smile. It helps to laugh too. Excuse the blabbering - feel like a very tightly wound rubber band. Hey, my name is Barlow, St. Augustine, Florida. I quit 4 days ago with the help of zyban. I've tried everything else gum, patch, natural, hypnotism, you name it. This seems to be the extra boost I needed to change my mindset and I'm glad I went to see a doctor about quitting. :8|: Barlow's Quit Stats Since Thursday, February 23, 2006, I've been smoke-free for: 4 Days, 17 Hours, 27 Minutes, 46 Seconds. I have saved $44.80 by not smoking 188 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 15 Hours, 39 Minutes, 51 seconds. to my life expectancy.

Knight of the empty ash tray, I like it. I've been exercising every day lifting weights more. My goal now is to start walking my dog every morning at dawn and get a good start to every day, instead of lighting one up and drinking a gallon of coffee. THanks for the kind words.. it helps. Barlow's Quit Stats Hey look at that here's a week! Wow! Since Thursday, February 23, 2006, I've been smoke-free for: 6 Days, 13 Hours, 1 Minutes, 24 Seconds. I have saved $67.20 by not smoking 262 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 21 Hours, 40 Minutes, 41 seconds. to my life expectancy. :)

I would be honored to be a memeber of the quitters club. Thanks to everyone here, this process will become easier each day. Other than my minor set back yesterday, smoke free and patch free all day today. (Did have to tell that nicodemon to get lost a couple of times) Look forward to staying smoke free with everyone here!
