start of a new day...this is a tough lonesome road to travel, I am so glad I found you guys, reading all of your messages helps a lot, also make me see, that some of you suffer more then I do, or in a different way, but that is good to know...my biggest problem is that I am walking around with no sense of directions, I get my work done and take care of everything I need to, but something is missing...I know what it is, a cigarette... a 40 year two pack a day...on 1-28 cold turkey....naturally..something is missing, I AM TUFF another day with NO nicotine I am abletobreath :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,092 Amount Saved: $216 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 19 Mins: 9 Seconds: 11

Like that name, abletobreath. It's funny, I just started coughing.. I guess my cilia were paralized ;-). I too feel lonely and sad sometimes... it is a wierd thing. These stupid cigs were with me for 27 years, since I was 15 years old. I can't wait until this dis-ease ends. Congrats on day 27, you are moving into a month smoke free! Make sure you pamper yourself, you deserve it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 623 Amount Saved: $140 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 0 Mins: 34 Seconds: 18

You are truly inspiring! Keep up the good work. Now you are able to breathe! I know because that was my main problem too. We can blow bubbles together. Hi Abletobreathe, I will tell you what you "miss".... The expense, maybe taking money from 1 place and putting it towards cigs. The smell. Your clothes, hair and hands. Finding places to have your smoke. Maybe sneaking a cig. when you can. Worrying about your health. What am I doing to myself and what is going on in my body? There are many more, but you get the picture. One thing for sure that you will never miss again is your self-esteem and pride!! Keep Strong, 30 days is right around the corner! Abletobreath, I have often refered to this quit as a journey along the road less traveled. I understand when you say it is a lonesome road. In the beginning the road seems so dark and impossible to make it through. I kept stumbling along the way. Then I found people on this site that were trying to make it down the same road I was. We all joined hands and traveled together. Helping eachother out when we needed it. There are a lot of people around here than can shine light on your darkened path. Eventually that missing feeling will disappear and you will feel free. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time. Keep taking deep breaths. Each day gets better and better. Congratulations on your decision to travel this road. You won't regret it.
