Thank goodness I am not the only one. I feel soooo much better. Golferman, you are so right about drinking something cold. I forgot to mention that it makes it feel better. It is so weird that sometimes you don't have the feeling and sometimes you do. Your explanation make sense also. Today I have'nt had the problem all day nor have I wanted to smoke. Thanks for the responses everybody! This is such a weird symptom but I will feel so much better if someone can say they are experiencing the same thing. You know how when you are not smoking you get that feeling in your throat and chest of this overwhelming need to feel smoke going down your throat? Well I don't have that anymore, but I now have that same feeling in my whole mouth. That is the only area I feel it in. I have never heard of anything like that from anyone who has quit. If I did'nt have that feeling I would not even be thinking about smoking. Anyone else had this happen? Hi Irwin, I cant really say if that particular thing has happened, but i've been chewing sugarless bubble gum like my life depends on it. It has helped me alot. not sure if this is the same but... yes I craved for smoke to be in my mouth like the taste of it or something. It is just another junkie thought but did come back to bug me once in a while for quite some time. I would say "I just want that taste of smoke in my mouth." Maybe this is the same as yours. Iwin, Bingo!! You, newbkr and me.. isn't that just the strangest thing?? You are right Iwin, if it weren't for that "feeling", I would never think of a cigarette again! My take on is that we've seared all the little nerves there from the heated smoke and without the heat anymore, what's left of the nerves there don't know what to do. Ok, so I'm not a neurologist.. sue me! :p I've sipped on ice water to sort of freeze my tongue/mouth and that has killed many a crave. Sugar free Popsicles!! YES!!! ;) [b][color=Purple]Be Strong. Iwin -- You're not alone. One of my primary withdrawal symptoms is that feeling from about the middle of my tongue to about halfway down my throat. No way to really describe it if you've never experienced it.

Irwin, Pay attention to this symptom. Everyone's quit is different and your body will react differently as well. If this symptom proceeds, please contact your doctor to rule out anything medical. Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
