Now that you do not smoke you have just given yourself the gift of time. You now have an extra 1 to 3 hours everyday. You use to smoke during that time. What are you going to do with this gift? Are you going to spend that time craving for a smoke or are you going to spend that time enjoying your new smoke free life? I find this part of my quit the most favorite. It thrills me to pieces that I have all this new time everyday. Not only is my life meter counting up ... but I am rewarded everyday with another hour or two of life. It is great and I am making the most of it. Remember ... once the nicotine is gone ... it is all attitude baby. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 943 Amount Saved: $124 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 15 Mins: 30 Seconds: 40

Hey Rich, Congratulations on 6 days! One of the biggest motivators for me, when I was successful (7 months- took 9 months of prep to get there), was taking the money, indicated on the Quit Meter and transferring it from checkings to savings. At first, I did this everyday, then later whenever I thought about it. It's a great little pat on the back. Plus, your savings account will grow very quickly. on 6 days you are doing great Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Rich, I am like you...the most I made it was 21 days. The biggest thing I learned from those 2 attempts was that I can't think into the future. That is what killed it for me. I would see myself doing something that I usually did smoking and would feel like poop that that memory would be no more. This time I am only thinking of today, this afternoon, or even this very moment. What do you think did you in before? Did you learn anything that you think would help me? Keep it going Rich - one minute at a time if need be. Don't give back any ground - stand strong. You can do it. You really can. Easy? No, but you CAN get through withdrawal. Keep on sirprising yourself. It feels pretty good doesn't it?
