No, it won't go on forever, but it is a constant battle with your mind. I never had cravings much in the beginning, look at my days, Sunday was awful. Another night I thought I was going to hyper-ventilate so I sat breathing in a paper bag. Took several minutes to calm down. Mine too have certainly lasted longer than a few minutes. More like an hour or a whole evening.
I have been on the patch, now down to 7 mg, and of course the cravings are more, but I have worked hard on the habit part (35 years)
Walking, reading, just going out in the fresh air, getting into this site and only reading if you want all helps.
It isn't easy but worth it. Keep up the fight. You will win. You just hang in there OK. :)
