Hi....well done. Idon't know how you do it. I have smoked for 4 years, tried yesterday to go cold turkey. YUK felt cranky, cried, emotional, sore throat and headache. So I smoked again. I had 6 smokes instead of 16. Today 8. I feel a bit ashamed but it is soooo hard for me. :|

The Nicodemon fights tooth and nail to get you back in the beginning. Keep fighting him back. He will get tired soon I promise. There is light at the end of the tunnel ... keep looking for it, have faith in it. YOu are doing great. Mookie - easy does it, there will come day where your mind is not monopolized by cigarettes all day. Until that time comes, you need to fill your mind with all the good things and keep it busy. You're doing well and need to reward yourself for every day you don't smoke!!! Rewards are how you treat yourself for a great job. This is most likely the one of the hardest things in life you will do - and guess what?? YOu're doing it! I'm proud of you, stay strong and keep chugging along. You'll be ecstatic that you did!!! Be gentle with yourself - if you're sleep is interrupted, take that nap (or two) and let that be your reward. We're here ..... I am happy to say that have been smoke free for 2 days and starting my 3rd day. Its a monster but I'm trying to stay with it. I would enjoy a smoke right now but know that it that darn nicodemon teasing me. I am consciously "CHOOSING" NOT TO SMOKE.....but I really have to talk to myself. I hate the fact that all I ever think about is not lighting up. When i think its off my mind I find myself dealing with either the nico demon or junkie thinking. I'm beginning to sleep a little better but still feel really exhausted. I hope this will lessen over time. Coming here and venting really helps. I have to do some work on my finances and I know I want to smoke but I have been through too much hell to give in now. Instead I'll go get a glass of water and take a couple of deep breaths then I'll begin to work. Will check in here for a break. Three days is so wonderful Mookie! I know how you are feeling, believe me. It is exhausting to remember NOT to smoke every second of every day. But, that just shows us what an all consuming addiction cigarettes are. Take hot baths and go for walks, read a good novel; sleep when you can; you get the idea. Be nice to yourself. Getting nicotine addiction out of our lives is worth all that we are going to face to accomplish our goal. I look forward to the day when smoking hardly ever crosses my mind. The only way we can get there is; not one puff ever! Keep on keeping on!!
