Tennielle, Welcome to the site and congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker! It is great to hear that you are ready to quit! The question is are you prepared? Please take advantage of our free Online Treatment Program in your glove compartment as you log into our site. This program will first help you determine if youre ready to quit. If youve already quit and are looking for some help, this program is for you. Although the program will first assess if youre ready to quit the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Dont get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free. The exercises in this program are divided into six major milestones. Think of each milestone as a destination youre trying to reach. After you complete the exercises in each milestone, your car will progress along the road map located at the bottom left-hand side of the screen. The best thing about this program is that it is free and you dont have to purchase any products to use this program. We hope that we have guided you in the right direction today! Please feel free to contact our support department in our feedback section found at the bottom of this page if you continue to have any questions or concerns. Or, please continue to join us here at our online support group! We wish you all the best and look forward to helping you achieve your goals! Take Care, Melanie __________________ The SSC Support Team

Welcome........post whenever you feel you need support.......there is always someone on, and ready to listen. Make sure you have prepared for this - it's like anything else in life, rarely are you able to get by just "winging it". Follow the guide in the SSC, stock up on whatever it takes to see you through. Candies, gum, etc. Then, just do it. We're behind you......!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/19/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 509 Amount Saved: $222.75 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 1 Mins: 32 Seconds: 2

What are some of the ways you tried to quit? Do you know the reasons why they didn't work? Are you at the point where you are just plain tired of being a smoker? That's what did it for me. Tired of the smell, cost, the way it affected my health, and the way it made me feel like an outcast. Keep close. Tennielle I suggest you make a promise to yourself NOT to smoke. Do not go to the store. Tell everyone that you are quitting. Tell your friends not to give you a puff or a smoke, ever. Lots of support is important. If you don't get it at home, come here and we will give it to you. Stay close, keep strong. All thoses failed quits are in the past and there's nothing you can do about them now. Someone talked about the end of the smoking rope and I like that mental image. Maybe you shouldn't tell anyone (except your support group here) about your quit. Don't make a big deal about it until it becomes real to you and not some pipe dream of becoming a non-smoker. You can do this if you do not give in to becoming a backslider again. I had to ask myself, "Do you REALLY want to quit or do you just like quitting and relapsing?"
