Well I do put on a good face...this is hard though. Yes I've gone through the Quit program. It is helpful. I've been at this merry-go-round of quitting and smoking for about 2 years now. It was a refresher, but sometimes one can over analyze to a point of psyching themselves out. I believe that is what I have done. You can have TOO much information :) Anyway, I'll be around. Thanks for the welcome. I've tried to quit alot of ways: hypnosis, patches, gum, lozenges, herbal patches, herbal programs (Smoke Away), or a combination of any. I have found though my best success has been cold turkey. Lots of water, cinnamon sticks, distraction of any kind... The reasons it didn't work before is well I wasn't committed to me in the program of quitting. I always put everyone else first and avoid conflict often at all costs. Well I got no support left, because well they have either thrown up their hands in disgust or I pissed them off to the point they don't care. So all that is left is me. That's good. Too bad it had to happen that way, but it's what I needed. Plus finally it's to the point where I just plain hate smoking. I can't smoke and enjoy it, because I know what I am doing and want to quit. At least the last 10 packs I've bought I hadn't finished and thrown out. Wasted money and wasted time. It's time to make a decision and I know conciously I can't continue to smoke...so quitting is my only option.

HI! My name is Tennielle and I am a nicotine addict. I have smoked for 11 years now and have tried to quit so many times everybody including myself has lost count. This time is for real. All this time I find my past quits as a work up to my final goal: To be smoke-free for good. TextTextQuittin smoking is too awful to go through not to succeed. I Tennielle from this day forward Quit smoking to live; not live to quit smoking.

Hello, Tennielle! Congratulations on your decision to quit and welcome to the SSC. What a great attitude. :) So many look at past attempts as failures instead of what they really were: practice runs for their final quit. If you haven't already done so, I strongly suggest you go through the Online Quit Program here. It is full of great tips and techniques to help you get and stay quit. Glad you've joined us, Tennielle. Stay close, read much, post often. Let us know how we can help. Sounds sort of how I was when I quit, Tennielle. I hadn't seriously tried quitting before, but I'd spent about 2 years analyzing every cig I smoked until I was so sick and disgusted with it there was no other option but quit. I didn't think I could do it cold turkey so I used Wellbutrin for the first month. It worked. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 243 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,879 Amount Saved: $923.4 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 11 Mins: 32 Seconds: 9
