Hi Na, I'm sorry to hear about your slip. I was really inspired by your progress as you and I quit at about the same time. I don't know what it is like to 'slip' as this is the first time I have tried to quit ... so I can only imagine what [u]I would want someone to say to me if I slipped. What I would want them to say is this: Get back on the band wagon ... you can do it. Fake till you make if you have to. Whatever it was that got you to quit for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years ... find it again and grab hold of it. As the old saying goes ... when you get to the end of your rope ... tie a knot in it and HANG ON! You may say, but I already let go ... well that's ok ... I have a hand stretched out for you to grab hold of if you need it. Many positive thoughts and prayers being sent your way, X-Smoker My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 233 Amount Saved: $28 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 38 Seconds: 57

Hiya Na! I think I can relate to what you've been describing. I really do find myself getting these odd "craves" from time to time. They aren't really craves, but more my brain just sending a thought about smoking. What I really notice is that some of them are devious as hell. Wierd thoughts where my brain rationalizes a reason why I wouldn't be a total dirtbag to myself if I had a smoke again. Basically it's just a quick random thought like "Hey, people slip all the time after a month. It's not so bad if you slip too. You're no worse than anyone else". They aren't horrible longings, or hard-core craves... just wierd random thoughts. I chalk it up to the nicotine STILL trying to find any little chink in my armor to wear me down. It knows I don't WANT to smoke, so it's finding these wierd ways to try to get at me. I dunno, maybe that's not at all like what you are getting, but it sounded like it. And for me, those thoughts go away as quick as they come, so I just ignore them or focus on all the reasons why I'm MUCH more happy as a quitter! Hi all, I am sticking with this thead for now, though i dont think it is a good idea to have the word 'worried' on the topic title :) But i do feel a little worried still. It feels almost like i knew a mouse's been hiding in the kitchen, and I am clinging on to my baseball bat, ready to strike it anytime it surfaced. And when the chase began, there will be lots of yelling, screaming , throwing of plates, almost but missed its tail... :) looks like the chase will go on for awhile. Frankly, I have never thought i can last till today :) My first quit was about 1 week, and the rest of the quit lasted around 12 hours or less :) before i give up. So ,it was kind of like having the idea to quit, but never really did it. how does it feels after 1 week is over? :) i know by then, probably the habit part will settle down, i might have inserted new habits into my meal break, morning hours, etcc. but i am not sure if the 'missing' part will go away so easily. i doubt it will. na one more day.... :| My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 106 Amount Saved: $18 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 34 Seconds: 11

Hi all, I decided to start this post cos i am in this stage of 3rd day of my quit. so maybe i should move from 'introducing myself' to 'coping with crave'.... I am a lucky person so far... i havent really suffer much in term of withdrawal, and i could feel my body coping with it really well... (so far, keep my finger crossed) ... However, it felt a little lonely now to have to fight the voices everytime... I am still fighting like a warrior...but a bit tiring :) it really feels like i have to be on guard anytime...one moment i feel totally in control, another moment or min... i just lost my will and cant talk back to the demon (but whenever that happen, i have been able to immobilized myself to have any physical movement, so i can't do anything regardless how my mind feel like reaching out for a stick :). I just need to let it out. thank you na My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 88 Amount Saved: $12 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 26 Seconds: 11

Shevie and Sunshine, thank you. yes, i will probably stick around to read while strengthening myself. Quote: I don't think you're being honest with yourself. I don't think you are ready to quit yet. You are too quick to use your self-described qualities of "stubborn" and "individualist" as excuses to smoke. If you really wanted to quit you would be using your "stubborn individualist" qualities in a proactive, pro-quit way. You are an addict and are still too willing to allow the addiction to control your life. Yes, Shevie... that's something i need to figure out too. thank you for the words. na
