Tuffy, Welcome to the site and congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker! It is great to hear that you are ready to quit! The question is are you prepared? Please take advantage of our free Online Treatment Program in your glove compartment as you log into our site. This program will first help you determine if youre ready to quit. If youve already quit and are looking for some help, this program is for you. Although the program will first assess if youre ready to quit the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Dont get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free. The exercises in this program are divided into six major milestones. Think of each milestone as a destination youre trying to reach. After you complete the exercises in each milestone, your car will progress along the road map located at the bottom left-hand side of the screen. The best thing about this program is that it is free and you dont have to purchase any products to use this program. We hope that we have guided you in the right direction today! Please feel free to contact our support department in our feedback section found at the bottom of this page if you continue to have any questions or concerns. Or, please continue to join us here at our online support group! We wish you all the best and look forward to helping you achieve your goals! Melanie _____________________ The SSC Support Team

I am new to this site and just discovered it couple days ago. Been trying to quit for several years now and finally I am just going to do it! I have finally come to terms that smoking does nothing for me. I don't even understand why we have cravings for something so gross. I really really want to succeed this time and need all the help I can get. Feel free to drop me any advice. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

kiwi, how many times did u try to quit before actually quitting? i'm so proud of everyone here. i know it's not easy and i am doing it cold turkey. i exercised when i smoked but now that i'm not smoking i dont feel like it. i guess it will take a while before my body gets used to it. i'm just going to take it one day at a time and hopefully i will eventually kick this addiction.

Welcome and congratulation on quitting. Use this site as oftem as you can. It has helped me so much in my quitting process. I am currently using the patch (I'm on Step 1) and I would recommend it to anyone that does not have sensitive skin. It has taken most of my cravings away. I think about smoking throughout the day but they don't last long. Stay strong and don't give in. Good luck! Hi Elle, Congratulations on deciding to quit. If you can go cold turkey that is great. I have tried to quit several times over the years. I am using the patch this time and it is working great. It does'nt take away the craves but it makes it manageable. Of course if my mind was not in the quit too I don't think the patch would even work. If you can go without any nicotine replacement therapy do it, but if you think you might smoke without it, it would be better to use it then smoke. Don't worry about getting hooked on it. You are already hooked on nicotine from smoking. With the nrt's you can wean yourself off of it if you need to go that way. Do whatever works the best for you.
