Is this normal? I mean NO CRAVINGS at all?

Messa, Sounds like you are headed in the right direction, congratulations. Pleas keep in mind that your cravings for cigarettes will come and go. Some may be stronger than others. If you have not already, make out a list of coping mechanisms to assist you when cravnigs hit. Stay strong and keep us posted on your success. Melanie ___________________ The SSC Support Team

Megama hang in there I am sure you can do this!!! The day is near an end! :) I am using the gum right now but I am wondering if I should just give that up. I am not wanting any nicotine in my system at all. This has been a rough day for me two and I am just 2 days into it. Hi Messa! I am also smoke free 10 days now after 17 years of smoking. I prepared myself for this quit for 6 months and came into it totally positive & determined not to fail. I think that is why i've been so sucessful. I have had a little bit of moodiness here & there but i have tried to keep myself busy constantly even if it's just reading. I think more of what i'm getting from not smoking like fresh air and my sence of smell!! I would say we are some of the lucky ones who are having an easier time with this. Keep up the good work but stay on guard! Well, I've been smoke-free for 10 days now. The first 4-5 days there were cravings, more like for the "gesture" than the ciggies in themselves; these cravings were actually mild, anyway a whole lot milder than I thought they'll be. Today, no cravings AT ALL. Nothing. And today I was in all situations that were supposed to trigger me. But, nope. No cravings. I actually feel like I've never ever put any ciggie in my mouth. I feel no need, no desire, no interest in smoking whatsoever. I find this very weird, though - I have been a convinced and passionate totally inhaling smoker (not puffer, inhaler) of two packs a day for 12 years until 10 days ago. Is it normal? Does it mean I am most likely to succeed in never smoking again? Will I face an unexpected craving let's say... within one month or one year or something like this? Why am I so crave-free? How come? Yep, still crave-free and smoke-free. And it gets BETTER - today my boyfriend - in a total admiration for my 12 days smoke-free - decided to quit smoking as well - YUPPYYYY!!! About your replies above - well, I wouldn't say I was not an addict... or maybe it was only in my mind, well, like I was supposed to be angry and nasty without a smoke. I was more like a boredom smoker, after all. I only needed cigarettes when bored beyond relief. But lately I found something to do with my fingers and my mind at the moments when boredom strikes me - I have bought myself a tiny little nice plastic poney and I play with it every time I feel bored and I make up (silently, in my mind) children's stories with the poney (his name is Glitter, by the way :) ). When I get the chance I write the stories down and make nice drawings for each one - I intend to publish a book for kids this way :) I guess that's why I simply forget about cigarettes. I don't get the chance to get bored anymore. Yesterday I forgot to enter the site. Today I remembered to enter the site because a friend asked me how was my quit and I asked her like: "My what?... Oh, my quit. Well, It's going well, thank you. Smoke-free :)". It's so good to be a nonsmoker, why would I ever again crave for those stinkies? It's been enough tribute, 2 packs a day for 12 years, am I right or not? Damn' I set a WHOLE CAR on fire during these 12 years, and didn't even have the chance to drive it (I mean 9000 Euros, almost 10000 US Dollars). So I guess I've paid enough. Not anymore, thank you :) I'll keep on writing kids' stories about Glitter the shiny poney and maybe earn some money from them :p And even if only my child will read my stories, it's much healthier than smoking, right? When the book will be ready (6 months smoke-free written stories) I'll make a PDF and put it online and post a link to it :) so that you guys can read it to your kids ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 288 Amount Saved: 16.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 5 Seconds: 58

It's been similar for me. One or two bad moments, but never the intense craving that I read about here. I don't know that I've made out quite as licky as you though. Just don't let the lack of cravings make you complacent. It's still something you need to stay on top of. My last quit (was actually my first quit, but I lost it) was almost craving-free, but then one night after 2 glasses of wine and a bunch of smoking friends (and 6 weeks, cig-free!!!!) suddenly I was smoking more than I had before I stopped! Just like that. I've had a tougher time this time around, but I think my resolve is stronger. Make sure to keep yours, and congrats on 10 days, smoke free! My craves didn't seem so bad at first. As my quit goes on and I put myself in more situations the urges get stronger. I am at 18 days now and the craves are not more often, just more intense. I too wondered in the beging couple of days, is this it? Now I know. It has got a little harder for me. Hope it stays that easy for you all the way. good job on 9 days!!!!
