Is this normal? I mean NO CRAVINGS at all?

Everyone has different quits, but for most of us, the first part is the toughest. Count your blessings but don't ever let down your guard. I had a rough time at first, then things were much better and then out of nowhere a huge crave hit me. I came in here and whined, cried, complained and all in all became a huge pain, but I didn't smoke. I was just so mad that after a few weeks, the cravings came back so strong. Now I have learned to say to myself that this will pass. It's only for a moment that things are tough. Keep your quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,432 Amount Saved: $595 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 16 Mins: 2 Seconds: 35

Messa...count your blessings. The first 60 days were hell for me. Every one of them. Some people are able to walk away from smoking and never look back. They are the lucky ones. However, don't let your guard down. Quitting isn't easy for everyone. If it is for you then you are very fortunate. Attititude is also a big part of quitting. Maybe you just have the right attitude. Whatever it is.....Just be Quit! Messa, That's great that you're not having very many or no cravings. Some people have an easier time than others. We don't really know WHY that is, but it just is.
Will I face an unexpected craving let's say... within one month or one year or something like this?
Yes, you will have cravings from time to time, but in those times, hold on to knowing what it's like to go a whole day without a cigarette. Just because you didn't crave today doesn't mean that you'll never have another cigarette (oh, I wish that were true) but it IS a sign that you might have an easier quit than others, which is great!
Does it mean I am most likely to succeed in never smoking again?
Only YOU can determine that. If you want to quit and are determined to never light another cigarette, then success is yours. However, just because you're not craving doesn't mean that you can let down your guard. You still have to be vigilant about not lighting a cigarette. But not craving on day 10 is an awesome thing! I wish I'd been that fortunate! That's great. Just hold on to that feeling of not wanting one and you'll definitely succeed! Crave the Quit! Shevie, I would hardly call someone who smoked as much as Messa to be a social smoker... I mean, to me, a social smoker would be someone who smokes every couple of days, or maybe 1 a day, but not so many that she would have not smoked 236 cigarettes in 9 days!!! I mean, if those numbers are accurate, I would hardly call that a social smoker... just my opinion. Crave the Quit! Hi, Messa. Congratulations on 10 days quit. :) There are "social smokers" that don't seem to become addicted to nicotine, at least not to the degree of most. That's why they are able to go so long (weekend to weekend) without smoking. An SSC member who has since gone on her smoke-free way (God bless her) made a post called, I think, "The Social Smoker". I'll bump it for you. In it she talks about how these people have a genetic abnormality that causes them to metabolize nicotine much more slowly than most. This causes the nicotine levels in the blood to remain higher longer and decay slower which, in turn, eliminates or minimized craves. Keep up the good quit, Messa. Butterfly, my thought train was: Messa's posted she's bored all the time. Messa's posted she has no cravings at all. Maybe she has the social smoker gene code, but smoked a lot just to have something to do. Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 234 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,688 Amount Saved: $889.2 Life Gained: Days: 43 Hrs: 16 Mins: 56 Seconds: 18

That's fantastic, Messa! I'm really glad to hear you've found a distraction in your pony and stories, and also really glad to hear your boyfriend has followed you into his own quit, too. Happy Day!! :) Good luck on your book. I'm looking forward to it.
