I blew it after almost 2 weeks. Broke down and bought a pack. Had 2 smokes and threw the rest away. Two days later, bought another pack and smoked them all. Reset my meter today. No stressful times, no super-mad cravings. Just wanted a smoke. So I did. Then the thoughts of why I wanted to quit in the first place came back. So here we go again.TextText My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 35 Amount Saved: $3.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 31 Seconds: 3

I found this quote and it seemed fitting. If at first you dont succeed, youre running about average. I have tried to quit about 4 times before this time and this is the first time I have not smoked ANY for this long. Being on this site makes you accountable for what you do. I have been quit for 24 days now and still everyday think to myself I would love to have a smoke right now a few times a day. So, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, I just remember all the hard work I have invested in this quit and I don't want to start over. I am glad to see you reset your meter and are going right back at it. Just remember like BS said get on here before you go and buy anymore smokes. Work this site and it will help you win this battle day by day. Will continue watching to see how you are doing. 2 weeks, 14 days, however many hours that is (cause the calculator batteries have just died and life is too short to work it out longhand!!!!). Sounds familiar.....your story that is........pretty much what happened to me a few weeks ago (only it was cigars.......funny thing that.....used to hate cigarettes with a vengence.......but would smoke the bl**dy things if had no cigars!). Only difference was alcohol one evening and it was about 11 days not 14. OK!!!! I admit it!!! It was not the same......apart from the addiction that is. It was a turning point however. I learnt from the experience and decided that I was not ever....and I mean ever, going to smoke again. It took the people on this site mind you to make me look up and think about my life. But I had to do it...they are great but they cannot stop for you and me, thats the bit we have to do for ourselves....so how about it? Shall we sort it out and stop? Hey Tom Well it's good you realize that you have to get back to the business of quitting. Hopefully next time you start to buy a pack you will post here instead. You can do this Tom, but you have to fight as if your life is counting on it. Oh Wait, It is. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 91 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,658 Amount Saved: $637 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 10 Mins: 36 Seconds: 3

Tomy, I'm sorry for your relapse, but I'm glad that you're back here to try again. This is a terrible addiction that we are fighting and it MUST be N.O.P.E. - Not One Puff Ever. If possible, come here BEFORE you decide to go buy smokes. And come up with other things you can do when you are in a stressful situation, or a situation where you are tempted to smoke. Hang in there. This IS possible and you CAN do it. Crave the Quit! Tom, It is good to see you jumped back on :) Take the time to prepare for those "I just want one" times. Use your coping mechanisms and really distract yourself from the situation. Avoid any unnecessary areas and triggers. We are always here for you, take it step by step, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
