Tail Between Legs

Oh no Stu. I haven't been on here in a while and this is the first thread I opened. I am so sad to hear about your slip, but you have one of two decisions to make. You either pick yourself back up & get back on with your quit, or you don't. You either chose to live or you chose to start walking towards the grave one cigarette at a time. Only you can make that call. Everyone here knows what they want you to do...what do you want to do? OK Guys here it is. My tail is still between my legs. I haven't been able to drop the cigs and have now decided I am not going to try again for about a month due to extenuating circumstanes. So I wish everyone the best and will be checking in from time to time over the next few weeks, but probably not posting. I'll talk to you all mid April and wish me luck that I live to get back to all you wonderfull people. Newbies please please please don't follow my lead. StuBow

Hey All, Well I don't know exactly what happened, but I bought a pack on Friday on my way home from work and can't seem to put them down. That pack already turned into a second pack and it is making me crazy. In know I haven't been hanging around here much lately and perhaps that made me forget who I am. I don't know exactly how it happened. I was having a sort of stressful day (not intensly stressful) and stopped for gas on my way home. I walked into the store there to use the rest room and the next thing you know I was standing outside smoking a cig. I hadn't been thinking about it at all and really didn't have a major craving or anything. It just sort of happened. Now I am having a hard time putting the DARN things down. Anyway I have 1 cig left and will not pick up another pack "just for today", so I guess my new quit meter will read 3/13. AAARRRGGGHHH. How Cunning and baffling this disease is. I have so many reasons to stay quit and can't hang on for more than 2 months. What is with that? Thanks for listening. Hey Everyone. Thanks so much for the beatings and the advice. My head is held high today. Really really really craving this morning, but I know I will get through it. It has been suggested that I have not taken responsibility on this. I know IT WAS 100% MY FAULT AND MY CHOICE. I think there truly was a certain degree of complacency and thinking that I was well. Well I am not. I am a sick twisted addicted JUNKIE. I will hang around as much as possible and check in at least a couple of times a day for a while. You just can't let your guard down for 1 minute or it can get you. Hi Stu. I'm not really sure what to say except we all care about you and your quit and we will be here. I know you will be back, because you have the drive and determination to get this done! So get that tail back up and get your butt back here and try again! Third times a charm! stubow, I'm sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with your quit. I haven't been here much lately either but looked for your posts when I logged in earlier and really was bummed to hear that you gave in again. Man, it's a tough habit to break isn't it? Just hang in there and hope/pray for the strength and determination to see it through. I still have my days when I can't stop thinking about smoking and would give anything for just one more cigarette. But, I know myself all too well and I know that once I smoke that one cigarette, I'll make it way too easy for myself to keep smoking. Hell week was way too hard for me to want to go through again!!!!!!!! Hang in there Stubow....YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

The little devil on the left shoulder won this time because you didn't listen to the angel on the right reminding you of why you have to quit......you will die from it.No ifs, ands, or buts (or butts). It will eventually kill you one way or the other. Listen to the right and start again. You can do it.........
