WHAT A WONDERFUL GROUP OF PEOPLE

18 years ago 0 38 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
When I logged on today, I was ready to start whining about what a REALLY bad day this was--Day 4--and how I must be the weakest person on this planet. Then I read the replies to my post yesterday, and by the time I was finished, I was tearing up. Not because I was depressed or angry or sad (I am all those things by the way), but because all of these wonderful people were going through this with me. If (When) I beat this horrible thing I have done to myself, it will be the result of a wonderfully supportive husband, and some of the best friends I have NEVER met. Thank all of you so much. And thanks to the Support Team for their advice. I have done all of the exercises and found the information and tips invaluable. I will be here often, so please don't get sick of me. Thanks, Bonbons

I remember from statistics class someone talking about dependent and independent variables. My decision to quit smoking in December had certain things in common with previous quits (thoughts about dying, disgust with myself over succumbing to an addiction, chest pains, concerns over the cost, problems of being a "closet" smoker, concerns about NRT vs cold turkey, a smoking spouse, etc) The one new thing I added to the mix was this website. I quit and I know this website has contributed to my being able to stay quit. Welcome to both of you... Bonbons and Denisey. This place is fabolus. I call it the greatest place in the world to quit smoking. Make sure to click the box that says "Show my Quit Meter" at the bottom of your posts so we can see where you are in your quit. It helps us help you and it's great to watch your meter climb. Congratulations on quitting! Congratulations on 4 (now 5) days quit, Bonbons. You come here and whine all you want. We won't get sick of you. That's what we're here for. And give you're hubby a hug. A truly supportive spouse is a rare and wonderous thing. Don't forget to reward yourself for your achievements. Rewards don't have to cost much or anything at all, they just have to make you happy. They are very important to the healing process, especially in the first few months.
