Time2quit, you are not alone!!! I haven't been getting TOO depressed, but boy oh boy have I been taking my frustrations out on my husband!! I find that every day (today will be number 4!) around 5:00, I get a severe craving and anxiety attack. That's when I really lose it. I am physically and mentally exhausted from fighting this. But, it will pass. We are strong and we can beat this suicidal habit!!

Hey there "QUITTER" ;p. I have been smokefree for 7 days. It has been kicking my a**. I do cry at the drop of a hat. I do get angry over petty things and its really hard to calm down after I have reached that point. Most of this past week I wanted to lay down and sleep. I am so mentaly, and physically exhausted. Cold Turky sux. I am a very very strong willed and I refuse to let cigarettes get the best of me even if it kills me. This emotional train wreck must come to an end eventually. Then I will feel alot better and so will you and everybody else. I truely believe goodness wll come. I haven't been waking up with a dry cracky voice. The only cough I have is just trying to get the toxins out of my system Just ask yourself a few quesions. Will Quitting be worth it? I know it will I can't possibly see anything good coming from smoking cigs. Moving on...Who is the Boss of you? Who makes your decisions? Are you wanting to give all that up and let Nicotine run your life??? I surely don't. When I get ready to strangle someone ;) I either go in the other room and hide out until all is calm. Warm baths help as well. I really hope that things start looking up. The benefits far out weigh the nicotine. I am here for ya! TAKE THE POWER BACK!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 80 Amount Saved: $30 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 56 Seconds: 2

Hi, we can all sympathise with what you are going through. What I have found helps is to keep a positive attitude no matter how hard it gets, try and look on the cravings etc. as a good thing in that your body is recovering from being poisoned for how ever many years. Be determined to win over and be very proud of yourself when you do. I don't know about you but I spent over an hour a day actually smoking plus whatever else preparing for it, that is a lot of time to find sdomething to do with. It really helps if you can keep yourself busy because 1. it occupies your time and 2. you feel good about what ever it is you have achieved. Good luck and don't forget - who is it that controls your life? It's you of course. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 170 Amount Saved: 35 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 13 Mins: 55 Seconds: 56

time2quit I see that I'm an old timer in this thread!Anyway I remember posting something about 3 weeks ago about how long this feeling crap goes on for. Well it does go on for a while, but it also does improve. What I've noticed is that I still want to smoke cigarettes but saying no to them isn't really much of a problem now anymore. I really think of myself as a ex-smoker now. It's a case of taking one day at a time. There are still things that I can't do easily without it being a trigger. The pub for exmaple - DVDs downstairs - but even these are slowly becoming easier. Hang tough you guys and that quit meter will rise and every single day it will become easier. Oh time to quit, I hope that you are feeling better. I love your name..it surely is time to quit! All the symptoms are signs that your body is healing itself. You are withdrawing from nicotine; a very addictive drug. Depression is part of the package. It will get better. You will feel better. Take it one day at a time. All the pangs and roller coaster emotions are worth it to be free from nicotine. You will have control over your life again. Nicotine also has dulled our emotions for all these years. Learning to deal with the intensity of emotions after quitting smoking is also required. Be extra good to yourself during this time. I know with children, woman sometimes ignore their own needs far too much. Do not do that now. Develop new habits. Take some nice walks in the evening. Maybe the kids would like to go with or ride their bikes along. It can be a great time to connect with them. Take a good book into a hot bath with some aromatherapy salts. Give yourself a manicure or pedicure; rub lotion all over yourself. Hang in timetoquit. You will feel better.
