Congratulations on your show of strength. Anything that involves our children is always stressful, and you coped without the aid of a cig. Awesome isn't it? You and I have the same quit date-How hard is this for you? I'm having a rather difficult time, but just keep thinking it will get better. Good luck and stay strong. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Our litte guy (5 years old) told us something very disturbing about his lunch room teacher at the dinner table yesterday. Really disturbing. My first instinct was to run to the corner deli, and pick up a pack of smokes, but reminded myself that this wasn't going to solve the problem. This morning I discussed the issue with his teacher as well as the principal, and necessary steps are being taken right now. To think that I handled all of this without a cigarette to handle the stress is something so amazing I can barely believe it myself. Hi Bonbons, The first few days were allright, than I had a few days where I thought I was going insane. Now, I have reached the point where, during the day, I don't miss it that much. However, the evenings are still hard. But I tend to go to bed a lot earlier these days, and it seems to help. Just keep reminding myself how awful I felt when I smoked. I would get these crazy headaches, and wake up with horrible nicotine hangovers. My goal is to buy a very good pair of running shoes as soon as I hit the 20 day mark, start running in the park every morning, and join our local running club. It just feels incredible to be able to breath again, and I can only imagine how much better it is going to be the longer I stay quit. Good luck to you as well. Am looking forward to read your posts. Congratulations Gabby! One of the toughest things to do is not to run to cigarettes when you're faced with a tough situation. Congratulations on doing that and so early in your quit!!! That's awesome! Crave the Quit! Forthe11thtime, Congratulations on getting over a big hurdle. That "stress out of nowhere" trips up a lot of new quitters. You handled it very well. Now tuck this incident away into your memory banks and should you get hit again with something stressful, pull this out and remember that you got past stress once, you can do it again. Best wishes. Great choice :) You focused on the issue at hand and realized the necessary actions to be taken, you didn't smoke through it all. Keep Strong and hope all is well, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
