Congratulations Rich for making it through the first 3 days. Yes, the nicotine should be gone (or almost gone) but now comes the mental battle, and that's often harder than the physical one. For me, the worst days of my quit were 10 and 34. I'm not saying that to discourage you, but rather to let you know that just because the nicotine is out of your system, that doesn't make it an easy battle. If quitting were done in 3 days and then no more withdrawal symptoms, then there wouldn't be any smokers and there'd be no reason for the SSC. So, you still have a battle to fight, but the hardest days are behind you now! Congratulations for that! On to day 4! Crave the Quit! Hi, Rich. There are over 4000 different chemicals in cigarettes, so who knows how long it takes to get them all out. But the nicotine is generally out in 72 hours. The energy and mood swings are normal, we all go through our own version of them. Nicotine invaded every aspect of your body's and brain's chemistries for years. Now that it's gone those chemistries are pretty well whacked out and it'll take a while for them to adjust. In the meantime, just realize that they are signs of healing, no matter how annoying they may get. Most really good medicines taste horrible! :) Congratulations on 3 smoke-free days, Rich. Fantastic accomplishment! Keep up the good quit. Day 3 has come to an end so I guess its all up to me now. I didnt die although i have gone from feeling great with lots of energy 1 minute to needing a nap the next to wanting to yack the next. But the mood swings are the best. Any hoot ive made it past day 3 and i am now getting ready to go to bed, when I wake its day 4. I truly have been doing alot of thinking last few days. If I had the choice of 1 million dollars and smoke till I die or be broke and smoke free i want the smoke free. I hate being addicted to something i cant control. Its like spinning out on ice while driving your car downhill but for once I think I have alittle control at least to make it threw today get some rest and focus my energies on day 4 tomorrow. I have rambled on lol, guess no ciggs and I feel high now that weird. thanks all My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 62 Amount Saved: $10.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 2 Seconds: 23

Rich, Remember everyone's quit and body are different. There still may be some toxins lurking around and those craves may take some time before they hit :) Be prepared and know that this can make a difference. Post often and let us guide you through this journey. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
