Hey Katie, Yes, I remember you!!!! Glad to hear you're still quit and everything's going fine! I'm an oldie and a newbie, I guess but I definitely remember you. That was a great post and I'm so glad to hear you're feeling comfortable in your quit. Crave the Quit! thanks all.. I am so proud of myself too. It was a lot of hard work, but i dont regret it for one second. I was so happy to hear from all my old friends, i miss you all. It is nice to be a part of a group that is so supportive. I was just explaining to my bf about this site, and I realized that there are not enough words to explain just what this site has done for me, I owe it my life, and to all the support specialists.. melanie, josie... etc... you have helped me more than you know. Thanks to all my new friends on here... all of you. I could NOT have made it through it without you, I have no doubt that I will never smoke again, and I owe it all to you, my uncle and to my belief in the power of will. you all have it, just use it. Dont let the nicodemon win. You are stronger than any man made chemical plant!! remember that!!! All my love and respect to you all for taking on this challenge, and for succeeding, for I have no doubt that you will, and have. One day smoke free is a success. That is where I started. All of us did... Day one.... ahhhh so long ago... but so clear. Now look at me... and it all started on day one.. you can all do it to... Living strong, Living long... Katie... Hey all KatieQuitter here. remember me? it doesnt seem that long ago that I was on here 23 hours a day needing help to get through a craving, or wanting to know if what I was feeling was normal...now I am at... day... what??? 240... and I don't even think about it anymore. I feel 100% better in the morning, and I can walk 20 feet without feeling winded!! nice!! Its the small things that make it all worthwhile. The breathing, the smelling better, the feeling you get when you cough and know that it isn't something more serious, or pretending that it isn't a smokers cough. My best friend used to be my smokes, and now it is gum. I don't ever crave a cigarette, but then I had the book " the easy way to stop smoking" and the loss of my uncle to Lung cancer to use as willpower, cause believe you me... I HAD NONE!! But something was different this quit, and I knew it.... I just knew it. but I took it one day at a time, and one hour at a time, and man oh man did I post on here when a craving hit. Made me feel like I wasnt alone. If you think in terms of " what will I do the first time I drink', or " I can't go a year without smoking"... then you wont make it. just try to get through the next three minutes, that is how long a craving lasts. the rest is up to you. mind over matter... Where are all my buddies from last summer??? still around??? Katie. katiequitter, I sure do remember you! If you haven't noticed, the SSC folks have been messing with us by putting the "Introduce Yourself!" forum on the top and the "New Users" forum (our main stomping ground) way down the list! Scroll down and you should find it and the rest of us "old timers" :p It looks like you are headed straight for an 8 months anny in a few days! Good deal! Hope to see you here for the celebration!
