Never thought this would happen

Today I am 1 week as a non-smoker. As if that was not great enough, A wonderful thing happened as I was leaving work today. I was leaving the building and there were two women outside the door smoking. That is the first time I have seen anyone smoking all week. Instead of getting the feeling of "I wish I could do that or "I really miss that" the first thing that came to my mind was "I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore. It really surprised me, not to mentioned made me feel really great. Just wanted to share that with all of you. Wonderful post as fits me perfectly. Today is also my one week mark. Had several meetings today with clients, school programs, etc. and did not have to worry about covering the smell and breath with cologne, perfume, mints, gum, etc. I may save enough on these costs to obtain another 'award'. Good luck!!

I know how good this can feel. I was out shopping the other day and there were two girls promoting some cigarette brand - one asked: "Do you smoke?", I said "No" and she said: "Congratulations!". That was soooo cool. Hi Iwin. Good for you. A similar thing happened to me in my second week. That was when I got my first whiff of smoke off of someones clothes who had just come in from outside. I always knew we smokers smelled bad after a ciggie, but this time I actually smelt it as a disgusting smell. You and I are lucky to be so far into our quits and not have to be around smokers very often .I Know it must be so much harder on people who are around it all the time. Keep Strong. Good for you! That can take a while to happen for some people but you are lucky to experience it so soon. It has dangers as well.......don't get complacent...be on your guard because the addiction does not give up easily. Brent

CONGRATULATIONS, IWIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One week quit is an awesome accomplishment. And seeing progress on the recovery road gives a fantastic feeling, doesn't it. :) Give yourself a reward for beating this thing for a week! You've earned it.
