Luci-Lou, Something may have triggered your crave. I know when I am at work there are things that will trigger me every so often. Can you take an early lunch or just go on a 15 minutes break, go outside for a brisk walk or just go sit outside and breathe the fresh air and close your eyes and relax? If there is ANY escape from your office wherever you are right now, go do it! Move yourself OUT of wherver you are, into a good place in or out of your workplace, maybe have a snack and check out some inspirational websites, or listen to online radio...there are a few things I have done in that respect and will get me relaxed and the foucs OFF the smoke. Whatever you do, don't light up. You are MUCH stronger than that!!! STAY STRONG!!! Many Blessings, Eve PROUD TO BE A C.A.R.E. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 141 Amount Saved: $51 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 41 Seconds: 58

Hi Lucy. I dont have much advice because I was lucky to not have major cravings throughout my quit. However, I can say you dont want to smoke! You're over one month in your quit! That is such a huge milestone for someone who has quit smoking. Do you really want to have to go through those first few weeks again? No way!! If you cant walk outside, can you walk around the office? Continue to read post from this site...keep your mind off of smoking. You can get through this...it will pass Lucy! Keep stong and keep posting if it helps. Ludi-Lou Hang in there! Don't do it, it won't be worth it! Are you using NRT? if so, chew some nicorette or take a lozenge. Just keep reading and posting until it passes. Someone in the C.A.R.E. group just posted that she had one and it WASN'T WORTH IT! We're here for you, so stay close and stay strong. Just don't light up!!! Hi, Luci-Lou. I've seen some suggestions of a link between carb craving and nicotine craving. Nothing solid, more things researchers have noticed and thought might warrant further study. Chinese food tends to be carb-heavy, so maybe that helped set this off. I really don't know, just a suggestion. Another thing is you're right around the 30-day mark when many do have a few days of increased craving. Hang in there. It does pass. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 337 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,754 Amount Saved: $1280.6 Life Gained: Days: 62 Hrs: 23 Mins: 3 Seconds: 41

Eve, No, I cannot leave yet...but there's only 39 minutes until I go home...I should be fine once I get there - I don't have many triggers at home... Maybe it was because I ate not-so-good-for-me food at lunch time? I had Chinese food for lunch, but I've been eating so healthy throughout the day since I quit that perhaps crap food is a trigger for me now? I don't know Thanks for responding though Eve and Casey...I've been sitting here refreshing my screen every 5 mins to see if anyone did!!! lol 36 mins to go............ I've been able to brush cravings aside till this afternoon...I've had a gigantic wave of one crave after another and I've had water and been breathing deep and trying to get my mind off it...no can do... So I'm posting...and not thinking about going upstairs to get a smoke off a friend here at work...NOPE, that would be silly...
