Oh It's hard...

The last time I tried to quit I had a lot of problems with the patch falling off. It was very frustrating and I think it was one of the reasons that I started smoking again. Not having the patch on was like walking around with a broken leg and not having a crutch to help hold me up. After a lot of trial and error I found that if you clean the area with alcohol before you apply the patch it will not fall off. It gets rid of the soap and oils that are on your skin. Hope this helps My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 141 Amount Saved: $27 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 21 Seconds: 16

Yes, it is hard! I know you can do this! Hang in there. I personally have been on anti-depressants for about 2 years now and so I am hoping that will help with my mood. I don't expect it to totally fix my bad moods cuz they can't take away my cravings! Anyhow, be strong, I know you will beat this! 45 days is HUGE...I can't wait to be that far in!!! Good morning... Well, I've been a non smoker for about 45 days and it's hard... did the patch for a while until I got sick of finding it just about everywhere on my body other than where I had placed it in the morning... then I forgot to put it on... I have to admit that I'm not doing so great with my mood... actually have been told by friends that I may be depressed??? Any of you going through that because you have quit smoking?

Miller Man, thanks. I'm a Keith's woman myself... thanks for the tip, I may try... have been off the patch for a couple weeks so I'm not sure if I should even bother putting it back on. That was the thing... my skin is very soft and the patch would travel on it's own merry way... my coworkers would make comments about it... why are you putting there..? It was kind of hilarious... thanks for sharing My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 464 Amount Saved: $184 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 18 Mins: 40 Seconds: 29

Hi Frenchdi, Dealing with the depression seems to be the biggest problem we must deal with. From time to time we all get it. I think the important thing is to reward yourself as often as you can and to stay around the SSC. It's good to hear other peoples problems (same or not) and to get a different perspective on things. Hi Frenchdi - Depression....ahh do I know it well w/my Quit. The past 2 weeks or so have been the toughest for me. Stayed in bed alot and when I did move around I had a dull gray headache I could not get rid of, I felt like I was living in a fog... Finally, with help and support from friends, the light at the end of that tunnel is shining. Hang in there... Like Lady said - seeing a shrink :) or a few sessions with a life coach may support you... Hang in - it will all pass, in time. Just be gentle w/yourself, dear one. Hi Frenchdi, I also had to use the medical tape, the patch would fall off or get stuck on my clothes....Just use some kind of tape. Duck tape would surely do the joy...Good luck. Congratulations on your 45 days, that is tremendous. Keep up the good work.... To the depression - I was a sad sap... What got me through was believing that the bad feelings would pass (because everyone here supported and encouraged and let me know that they would - they were right), believing that I would make it, believing in my commitment to my self, my new life. If you want it bad enough, let nothing get in your way. YOU can do this, believe it. keep fightin' the good fight - fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 147 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,434 Amount Saved: $735 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 2 Mins: 44 Seconds: 27
