jo, Welcome to the site and congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker! It is great to hear that you are ready to quit! The question is are you prepared? Please take advantage of our free Online Treatment Program in your glove compartment as you log into our site. This program will first help you determine if youre ready to quit. If youve already quit and are looking for some help, this program is for you. Although the program will first assess if youre ready to quit the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Dont get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free. The exercises in this program are divided into six major milestones. Think of each milestone as a destination youre trying to reach. After you complete the exercises in each milestone, your car will progress along the road map located at the bottom left-hand side of the screen. The best thing about this program is that it is free and you dont have to purchase any products to use this program. We hope that we have guided you in the right direction today! Please feel free to contact our support department in our feedback section found at the bottom of this page if you continue to have any questions or concerns. Or, please continue to join us here at our online support group! We wish you all the best and look forward to helping you achieve your goals! Hi! My name is Jo and I am about to try once more to kick this awful habit I have. I have tried to do it by myself many, many times but I never made it. None of my living friends smoke and those who did are no longer living. I would like to stay a while longer with the living ones, but I realize now I need help in the form of someone who has gone through this or is still going through it to share with me things that have helped you. Hi, My quiting date is also 2/1/2006, thats tomorrow. I have been wanting to quit this crazy habit, but have never suceeded. I saw something in the paper from the government. They were offering people to do a study on kicking the habit. So i called up, & they sent me free patches, for 5 weeks. I sure hope i can do this. Really want this deamon out of my life. Am sick of spending te money & always depending on them.Boy, it's expensive to kill yourself. Wish me luck. I'm sure i will be coming on here on a daily bases, looking for support. Thanks to all. Ciao

Hi Jo and Welcome! You said in your post...
I am about to try once more to kick this awful habit I have.
To get your mind in gear, just switch up the words a little to... "I'm about to kick this awful addiction..." I believe you'll find this site to be a powerful tool in doing just that... kicking your addiction to the curb! :) Spend all the time you can learning, reading, and posting. Don't forget to pamper yourself these first few days...you probably won't feel quite up to par. Keep in mind that each crave passes in just a few minutes. Get through each one....and keep N.O.P.E. as your mantra ..Not one puff ever. Let us know when you need a hand. Congratulations on a great decision!
