bonbons, When a craving sets in, think about what are you going to do or what you can do to not give in! Try writing down some coping techniques to particular scenarios. For example, the house is clean there is nothing to do and the cravings kicks in. You have already eaten and you are in a state of panic. Try leaving the house, go for a walk, call a friend, jump on the site, have a shower. Anything that takes your mind off of temptation is beneficial. Quitting smoking is not easy and that is why we are here! We are here to help you learn on how to quit smoking and be successful. You can do this Crow! Keep us posted and be sure to jump back on the site to let us know how you have coped with your cravings. We all learn from each other! Take Care, Melanie ________________ The SSC Support Team

Bonbons..... You are having those incessant, demanding junkie thoughts and they will drive you crazy and never stop unless you can tell them to. Either just keep saying NO to yourself, out loud, or in your head, or just start doing something that will truly be a distraction, so the junkie doesn't have room to slip in and start chattering again. Here's a post that Shevie bumped yesterday......where folks can post all of their own strange junkie thoughts........and here I thought I was the only crazy one around here! Good morning Bonbons. Congratulations on getting 5 days behind you, not an easy task but you are doing it. I don't know your age or gender but years ago ABC sports had a slogan "The thrill of victory or the agony of defeat". The same thing applies to you at this very moment and it is your choice. Life is always choices, not all of which are painless.
Please let me stay strong today. My mind is messin with me!!
Now ask your self "is my mind really messin with me or am I really messin with my mind. Again another choice to make. That is part of junkie thinking that most addicts make early on in their quit. Any subjective reasoning to light up that dirty cigarette is fair game to your mind right now. Trying to remember back to day 5 in my quit, I am reminded that this is "hell week" Next is "heck week" and on and on it goes. This morning I woke up. Some days I say thank you lord, and others I say WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW leave me alone. Life goes on and you have more choices to make. Today I am not going to smoke. That way my choice this morning. I hope it was yours. Kindest regards, Duffis duffis's Quit Stats Since Sunday, February 13, 2005, I've been smoke-free for: 343 Days, 7 Hours, 46 Minutes, 47 Seconds. I have saved $1,440.60 by not smoking 10299 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 47 Days, 9 Hours, 33 Minutes, 18 seconds. to my life expectancy.
