Hello!!! You're all so great! Thank you all for your answers and your advice and everything! I'm in Athen which is trying to get warmer and sunny. It's been cold the last few days, cold,rainy,cloudy...yuchy... I'm getting in the mood and psychology to stop this thing. I thought that while Pack My Suitcase and keeping myself busy,it would be better to smoke less than usual.. and it's going good so far. Thank you guys.. i'll keep you informed.. i'm just spending a lot of time reading posts etc in here and it's so useful!! ;)

I see in your profiles how many days you are without a cigarete... And it makes me smile..yet it seems so difficult!! I remember the last time i decided to try, i convinced a friend too... he did it... i think it's more than 5 months that he didn't light a cig...And i was the one to tell him to quit together. He just did it!!!

Hello Everybody, i'm glad i found this site and i see that there is a lot of support in here. So,i'm 28, i started smoking about 10 years ago but i never smoked more than 10/day. Maybe just during 1 or 2 small periods in my life. I don't want to smoke anymore. To be honest,i don't enjoy..i don't remember i even enjoyed one cigarette all these years..well,maybe one or two. But i always feel sick in my stomach..my throat...bad smell..bad taste... and everything on me smells bad (hair,clothes... yuch). I set my quit day today..but then i read that women in PMS period they'd better not try...so i put the 19th June as my quit date. just a little support..advice... would be appreciated. thank you all!! hugs

Kate, As a girl, believe me, I understand about the PMS thing! PMS is my middle name ! :) If you think you should wait until you feel better about quitting, after your period, then do that ! Women go through such major mood swings when they are PMSing and the mood swings can be worse when you are also not smoking. I PMSed the last few days since I quit smoking and I have been a super mega bee-yatch, and it is possible that if I hadn't been quit for about 4 weeks, that I would have smoked. Just remember that you are going to quit ... and stay here and go through the entire program... make that committment to yourself! I am 32 years old and smoked since I was about 18 ... so I understand! I tried to quit when I was 28 and I didn't make it, but if I had made it, I would have been smoke-free for 4 years by now! Do it, Kate ! Hiya Kate! I'm certainly no expert, having just barely passed 50 days, but I will share what has helped me so far. 1) WORK through the program listed in the links on the left side of the screen. There is some GREAT information there. 2) PREPARE! Understand up front that this will not be easy. It won't be as hard as you think either, but it won't be easy. 3) THINK about your "triggers". What are things that will make you want a smoke and how can you deal with them? For example, I always smoked during the drive to work - specifically when I got to one certain spot I always lit up. So the first day I took a different route to work and after that I always made sure to have something handy to "do" instead of smoking. 4)READ a lot of posts here. 5)UNDERSTAND that you are addicted to cigarettes. There is no other way around it. No pretty way to put it. You are a junkie. 6) ENJOY being smokefree. To that end, I also printed out the 'Junkie Thinking' thread and kept it right in front of me all day (It still is even as I write this!). You can find it here: Junkie Thinking Thread Please post and let us know how you are doing! We are here for you and can help you get through this!
