Hello Kate, Congratulations on your quit! Re Bubba's comments - 1)Pack My Suitcase indeed! 2) On a more serious note - have just read an article emphasizing Bubba's point - even 3 cigarettes a day can lead to serious illness / fatality Take care Mr Ed :) ps what part of Greece would that be? Welcome and good luck! Just prepare yourself. You need to become comfortable with being uncomfortable, at least for a lilttle while. It will pass. Stay close! Hi Kate from Greece Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. You have come to the right place to help you succeed. I don't know about the pms, but I was witchy the first month no matter what. I guess for me it did not matter. What does really matter in a successful quit is a plan and great preparation. Use the tools to the left. Hello Kate, I'm a bloke so can't comment but welcome to our non smoking community. There is tons of advice here in the posts that people put up but also in the program tools which are over to the left of the screen. Apart from thusual advice I would suggest reading as much as you can about the effects of smoking and the methods for quitting ahead of your quit date. Kate from Greece You have come to the right place Remember the 3 Ps- POSITIVE attitude [very necessary] POST often [their is almost always someone here to post when you are in need of support] & Not One PUFF ever [It is hard to stop after one puff} Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Well Hello Kate, Glad to meet Your acquaitaince, I've never meet Anybody from over there or down under before from Greece before on this smokeing center to my recollection, How is the weather over there, Hot, Cold, Foggy, Why this must be Your lucky year, to want to quit smoking, Can't think of a better reward then to expand Your life expetancy and live an extra 15 or 20 years, especially at Your age, Well Friend, I sort of used some medication to help me get started in my quit, but that is Everyone's choice, But what You need at this time is something to Replace Your Smokeing addiction, so as when You pick that DAY, TO SAY!!! I Quit, You will have something to fall back on, like a good Excercise plan daily, Or join a swimming club and work out as much as You can, It takes Your thinking off the cigerettes, at least it worked for me, And this only last like 2 or 3 months until You realize that You CAN make it through a day or a week without the Crutch of a cigerette, O'Yeow, So Pick a Day, Grit Your teeth, and get that Eye of the Tiger, And by ALL MEANS, Stay close this Smokeing Center like Your life depended on it, How do You think I got to 3 years and 3 months smoke free, I don't think of smokeing today, and my past, only think of journey going forward, Take care, have a nice journey, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1191 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 35,746 Amount Saved: $5097.48 Life Gained: Days: 281 Hrs: 15 Mins: 19 Seconds: 44
