Hey Duckie - stop beating up on yourself! Be gentle with yourself, especcially while you are going through this stressful time. You will be able to quit - I know it and you know it! Hope to hear from you again soon... Pitstop

I have slipped :( I went back to my doc b/c of the ER visit on Sunday. ER doc said my ear infection was very severe to the point of being off balance, brain fog, confusion, etc. Apparently the infection never truely healed from last fall / winter and my seasonal allergies aggravated it. When I explained my cheek area sometimes goes numb and it was a new symptom, she immediately ordered a CT head scan. This flew me straight into panic mode. I am still in a concerned mode as I am waiting for them to call for the appt. I do not remember if she gave me true explanation over the scan but all I remember was, "To make sure nothing else is going on." I am sure it is all routine b/c of the ear infection as all other tests were completely normal. My T4 was all out of whack too and she said this could be culprit as well as combined w. the inner ear infection and quitting smoking all at the same time. The numbness comes and goes--especially when I try to 'pop' my right ear. So I am thinking it is because my sinuses are inflamed. I know I was doing so well and was so very proud of myself but the stress was overbearing for me. I used all of my 'battle weapons' but it only helped for a few minutes. I am so sorry for slipping at this time. As soon as everything starts back to being smooth, I will do it again...I know I can do it as I have already proved it to myself. I just need to learn to handle the hard times of stress better. I have sought the help of an antidepressant and speaking to someone about learning to deal w/ stress. Please PLEASE do not be upset with me at this time. I am already upset w/ myself.

TY everyone!! I am now back into a panic mode :( My CT scan is set for May 2 and my nerves are now shot :( has anyone had terrible sinuses where part of the face has a numbing sensation? As you can imagine, I am scared and all upset :( The numbing part is contained in my cheek area and part of the right eye. It will come and go but when it comes back, it freaks me out :(

Hey Duckie, Lose the cigs... they are only making things worse. And the junkie talk and junkie energy is creating panic in you. There is nothing to panic about, friend. Calm down, center yourself, breathe, in, breathe, out. Breathe. Easy.... ease down the energy. When you inhale, just inhale that calm peace that is there for the taking... Hold that breath. Exhale and when you exhale, feel and SEE the panic and chaos leaving you. Do this until the panic is all gone. Go ahead... Do this... More... Again... We are here - and we will be here. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Easy, dear one. Breathe and gentle down the energy around you. And get back on that Quit - ok, you ready? :) Blessings and Light coming your way- Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 53 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,859 Amount Saved: $246.45 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 21 Mins: 25 Seconds: 4

Duckie - Does your numb side still move around? Can you smile? Can you blink your right eye? Can you move your mouth around? The reason I ask is that after a horrible sinus infection a couple of years ago the same thing happened to me. The doctors were puzzled at first but after cranking some good antibiodics in me after a few weeks it got better. It didn't go away totally for a couple of months but it did get better. Please don't stress any bigger about it because I belive that stress makes it worse. Do you meditate? Can you practice some relaxation excercises? Just know that we are here for you. Don't beat yourself up about the slip - that only adds more stress for you. But do know that the healing process of any sickness or surgery is delayed when you smoke. It takes longer for your tissues to heal themselves.
