Last night I felt terrible, I was sick to my stomach, dizzy and shakey. I actually told my family to deal with me and I did not want anything said that was not an encouraging word. My husband was so freaked, he went and got me that Patch. Maybe cold turkey is not for me??? Or does this happen with the patch as well??? I no longer crave the wake up smoke, I do think about it, but do not crave it, I guess that is good I can always distract myself not to think about it. Anyways, today is a new day and lets begin!!! Thank you everyone for the encouraging word. No real symptoms right now just wanting to smoke but not a strong craving for it. Thanks for the patch advice, instead, I will give the Patch back to my husband as a now its your turn. He smokes a pack or more a day, he has been a smoker since he was 13 years old, he is really thin and unable to gain weight, dr's have told him to quit in order to gain some weight because he has an overactive metabolism. So my new goal is getting him to join me. Thank you once again, Carmen My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 54 Amount Saved: $15 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 16 Seconds: 17

Hi Carmen: Sorry you're feeling Icky. Lady is right, you have a leg up on this thing. Stick with it. Maybe take a warm bath and a nap if you can, calms everything........ Hi Carmen - I agree w/Lady. I would not reintroduce nicotine back into your system. NO need to go backwards. One moment at a time, you can do that. Just take the big pieces and make them smaller and more handleable:) And breathe - big, deep breaths all the way down to your belly button. Hold it. Gentle let it out, and also release the stress and any emotions that need to come out. Blessings and Light- My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,910 Amount Saved: $251.1 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 1 Mins: 54 Seconds: 20

Carmen. You are in the middle of hell week and your body is going through withdrawal. This is the worst part of the quit. If you have gone 3 days without nicotine I would not recommend using the patch. It takes about 3 days for the nicotine to leave your system from what I understand. Quitting is hard and it does put us through a lot of changes but you have to hang on to the fact that it does get better with time. Unfortunately, we don't get over smoking over night. Try drinking a lot of water and taking deep breaths. That is what really helped me. Hang in there. You are doing great! Carmen, That's right today is a new day! The first week is always the toughest. Make sure you check with your doctor to rule out anything medical. Smoking has a way of masking issues that you may have not noticed before. Keep Strong, Josie ____________________ The SSC Support Team.
