All I want to do is smoke and eat!

Thank you all for your help! You don't know what this means to me. Just to be able to have someone listen and be able to relate is a godsend! THANK YOU!!! I did really well today even if I did have a nervous breakdown. I did not smoke! I had a slim fast, and a Lean Cuisine for lunch and dinner, low calorie ice cream and hot tea for snacks! SUCCESS! Tomorrow will be another day! T. Chewie, my husband, came home at 2:15 to check up on me and see if I was staying on schedule. He is a control freak and doesn't think that I manage my time well because I watch tv and use the computer. Well, when he came home is time that Nico, our 2 year old, takes a nap and he woke him up stayed for less than 5 minutes and left (after he made a point of saying that he was going to disconect the tv). I was folding laundry when he got here. Well, Nico never took a nap and has been a terror because of it. I called Chewie and told him that I was really angry because he just came to disrupt us and now I can't do what I normally do when Nico sleeps. I can't clean the bathroom bacause he wants to get into every thing, I can't mop because he will slip and fall, I can't fold the landry quickly because he wants to help. He wants to eat, play, and do the normal things he does but when do I get time to do the things I WANT?! Chewie said, "You can do whatever you want to do," yeah right! What I want is to smoke, eat, sleep, watch tv. I want to be left alone and retreat into a world of my own, but I can't do that. GOD KNOWS I WANT TO AND I TRY REALLY HARD, but I can't, now can I?! All I can think about is smoking and eating myself into a coma! These are the only two things in my life that I have control over! I feel so deprived of every thing else! I know this isn't the place for this, but this is my life and the reasons I medicate myself w/ food and cigarettes. T. For right now ... take a bubble bath with your son, go outside and make mud pies with him, get some sidewalk chalk and draw, pop some popcorn and you and him watch a really good Disney movie together. Once you have let yourself relax some, my advice, for what it is worth, is to look over this topic's opening post again when you are in a better frame of mind. Really look at it. Examine your self talk in it. And then make the choice to talk more positively toward yourself. Make the choice to tell yourself what you CAN do, instead of what you can't. I say the above with much compassion, make no mistake about it. for T !!! Dear TX; You are a STAR!! I know that if you're dealing with the care of a 2 year old and running a household you've got DAMN FINE time management skills. I am so glad that you called your hubby to tell him off about disrupting your day - I've got a 2 year old so I can really relate to what you're saying. I'm with you on the self-medicating as well. Today I just want to eat and eat and eat. The nico withdrawals aren't bad today, but I could eat the world and then ask for dessert! All while watching TV I might add! LOL at all those hubbies that don't think the little woman can manage without their guidance. Where do they get their dinosaur ideas from? :quest: You go girl, take care of you chickstarr :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 510 Amount Saved: $212.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 9 Mins: 50 Seconds: 26

We all know a thing or two about medicating with food and cigs. And that is the perfect way to put it. TX: You have put up a great effort here. 15 days is a long time to go w/out smoking. Before you know it, all those things, like Chewie coming home early and Nico not taking a nap, will not require you to think about smoking. You will go on with every stress w/out thinking that smoke will help. Why is that ? Because smoke does not help and it never did. It made you more anxious, more nervous, and you were paying money to make yourself sick. Anytime you are having a bad time of things, remember that you QUIT smoking and that should cheer you up. You are free of an addiction that was robbing you of your life and making you pay money for something that you not only do not need, but that was poisoning you. I say rejoice that you are not smoking. Be proud of your accomplishment!!! Life stresses do not get better with a sickarette in your hands! Stay Strong. T. This is exactly the place for this. We are here for support. Take some deep breaths. Everything seems magnified this early in your quit. I wanted to kill everyone in the house (if you do this, hide the bodies well). you are doing great. Just don't smoke no matter what. Take your quit one step at a time. Another thing, I learned something in my quit. If the bathroom doesn't get cleaned, no one will die. If the dishes aren't done, they will not go anywhere. Give yourself a break. Quitting is hard and you are doing it. If you are even attempting to fold laundry you are doing better than I was in the beginning. I was doing good just to get it into the washer. Don't worry, this will pass and then you will be cleaning house at 3am to keep the craves at bay and hopefully wear yourself out enough to be able to sleep. :) Hang in there. It really does get better and you are going to love being a non-smoker. It will change your world. Tx, Take a step back and know that this normal. You do need time for yourself within this quit :) You also can keep occupied and distract yourself with many things. Try low calorie snacks and veggies and use smaller portions. You have made the right choice and know that this can be done! We are always here for support and knowledge to guide you. 15 days is great and you should be proud! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
